Two weeks later
Qing Cang brought his entire army to a halt beside the Blue Rivers. An enormous river that delved off into three directions, each of which led to three separate Realms, one of which was Qing Qiu, which fed the rivers. The other two led to the north sea which took weeks to follow on foot, and the third led part of the way to a forest, which was the main entrance on foot to The Celestial Heavens. And it was the large clearing on the other side of that forest that was named as the battle ground, being the halfway mark for both Tribes.
They still had a good week of travelling before they reached their destination, because the size of his armies which consisted of both men and beasts was enormous. And with their camping gear and resources also being carried, the travelling was slow but steady.
Now and then they would see Celestial scouts flying above them, but so far they had kept their distance and left them alone.
Ordering his entire army of beasts behind a barrier so they could not be seen, Qing Cang then ordered for his tent to be erected. His army numbered in the tens of thousands, and he knew he would be more than a match for the Celestials, and with Mo Yuans full knowledge of their armies, their capabilities and their formation strategies, he was unstoppable.
Night was almost upon them by the time his own tent was erected, so ordering his entire army to settle in for the night, he retired to his bed. His tent was the same size and style as all the others for ease of use and dismantling, and with only a wooden chest, a bed and a small table which held his writing materials, there was nothing else of interest in it. Lying down, his thoughts once again began to go over a problem that had been plaguing him for days since his return.
For the past few nights, he had been trying to summon Xuan Yuan from Kunlun Mountain, a feat that Mo Yuan would have been able to do without much thought, however because of the presence of his own essence, the sword refused him. Even his own Halberd was untrustworthy. Twice now, it had refused him, more than likely because of Mo Yuans essence which he was using, though the few times it did obey, it felt much heavier than it actually was and manoeuvring it was difficult.
But unable to completely separate Mo Yuans essence from his own, he instead had to revert to an ordinary sword. Not that it mattered, he knew how to use one, but his double crested halberd had accompanied him on every war, this would be the first time it would not, and he could not help but feel that it was a bad omen.
But regardless, he was not going to back down. Already word had come in that the Celestials were gathering their armies in preparation from him, and not only were many already in place, Mo Yuans Disciples had gathered Kunlun Mountains allies, families of his Disciples which included their Realms armies. So it looked as if the Celestials had more support that they may have realized, but he knew and they knew it was nowhere near enough. This time, they would not have the support of the Demon Lands, because from what he had learned on his arrival, is not only had their Overlord gone into seclusion because of Bai Qian, but he had all but closed down his entire lands, the second time because of her.
And that brought his mind back to Bai Qian. He had also learned that she was missing and had been for hundreds of years. Her family were still scouring the Realms for her, and to have gone missing the day before Mo Yuans return was too much of a coincidence, there was definitely something going on and he had a feeling it had something to do with himself and Mo Yuans soul union. But one thing remained very clear to him, just the image of that woman, was enough to give Mo Yuan strength to fight against him.
In fact the last time he had brought that womans face to mind, he had felt Mo Yuans presence pushing against him, and once it did succeed, however, using every ounce of will power and his own essence to push Mo Yuans back he was able to gain a much stronger foot hold. He was still there inside him, he could feel his anguish and frustration at not being able to take control of his own soul and body, but he was not giving it up, not now that he held the mans knowledge and power. And with a war against the mans own allies, men and woman he now knew by heart, he literally had this war won before it even began. And when the war was done, he would also take her.
