Leaving the Celestials Medicine King to deal with the young ladies who were more tearful and embarrassed than hurt, Zhe Yan made his way to the Grand Hall where Di Jun and Mo Yuan were thoroughly pounding the ears of both boys.
"What girl of the Ghost Clan?" Mo Yuans voice thundered down at the boys who were both on their knees and looking up at him in embarrassment.
"She said her name was Ruolin of the Ghost Tribe." Gaogui informed him which had Zhe Yan moving to the side of the Hall to listen carefully.
Turning to Di Jun, Mo Yuan noticed the blank look in regards to that name, which no doubt mirrored his own. The girls name was not on the list and nor were any girls from the Darklands invited, so to hear that one of their women had caused serious harm to their own young elite was not something either men would take lightly.
"So you met her, then what?" Mo Yuans eyes glared down into his sons face which was turning red by the second.
"We just talked father. I talked to all the girls." he said not prepared to take the blame for what happened. No when he did not believe he was at fault. Those other girls were fully to blame for what happened.
"You just talked. And what about you?" Di Jun asked Ye Hua.
"I didn't get to meet her, but I did talk to the other girls." he said with a quick glance at Gaogui which both High Gods noticed was laced in anger.
"Oh. I see. So you both talked to all the girls, but for this one girl, you both chose to remove your barriers even though you informed us you would keep it in place in order to prevent what we just saw?" Mo Yuans sarcasm was dripping from his lips as he watched both sets of eyes lower.
Unable to meet his eyes, neither of them raised their heads afraid that to do so, Mo Yuan would lose his barely contained temper which everyone could feel below the surface of every word that escaped him.
Straightening up, Mo Yuan looked at Di Jun who seemed to have the same question on his mind.
"Did you two invite this girl to the Festival?" he asked next.
"No Father, we have never met her before today." Gaogui replied honestly which Ye Hua nodded his head at.
If there was one thing every High God in the Hall knew, these two never lied. So if the boys didn't invite her, and they themselves didn't, then who? he wondered. And nor did it seem likely that the other girls invited her considering the way she had left them all wounded and unkind in their assessment of her. And nor it seems did the young men who all said they had never seen her before.
"Perhaps we need to take a trip to the Ghost Realm." Di Jun said. He was not so angry because the girl attended, but the mess she left behind.
"May I speak." Ye Hua asked while keeping his head down.
Looking towards Mo Yuan and Zhe Yan who was still sitting across the hall watching, he then looked down at the boy who was rigid as a piece of driftwood.
"Go on." he said which had Ye Huas head rising to look up at him.
"Had she not intervened on our behalf, we would have been hurt. Neither of us could safely raise a barrier without hitting them, and nor could we defend ourselves. We were literally surrounded and being crushed, she rescued us. I owe her a debt." He said as Gaogui too looked up.
"He is right. Ye Hua was almost thrown into the Lotus Pond, and my energy is too powerful it would have seriously hurt them. She not only forced her way through the throng to pull Ye Hua off the barrier, she created a large enough gap for me to escape." he added to their woeful tale which Mo Yuan was dwelling heavily on.
