Forcing himself into the tight circle, Zhe Yans soft voice took on a tone of authority as her parents and Gaogui were almost thrown out of the way.
"Put her down Mo Yuan!" he ordered.
The tone in his voice reached him immediately that he instantly did as he was told. When Zhe Yan was in his element, they all listened. Placing her back down on the soft cushion, Mo Yuan then moved back but he did take her hand as Zhe Yan lowered himself beside her to check her over.
Forcing his energy into her, he quickly scanned her organs lightly, before then scanning her soul. From what he could see, everything looked and felt as it should. Then breaking the connection, he lowered over her to lightly lift her head
"Xiao Wu. Open your eyes." he said softly down at her.
For a moment there was no movement, but her body did continue to twitch lightly as life continued to return to her.
"Qian Qian, wake up." her Mother called out from the side which then had Mo Yuan inching closer again only to have him moving back again as Zhe Yans glare grew harder.
For the entire time since his arrival, he had taken a step back to merely observe and to allow her the space to greet her family while also covertly observing her energy, demeanor and state of mind. Impressed beyond measure, he did not feel it was necessary to throw himself in front of her, they had all the time in the world to catch up.
But when he saw the state she was in after having released the Nine Pillars energy source, his heart broke so thoroughly, he had literally gone into himself. Di Jun had guided him to the side wall to offer comfort in the best way that he knew how and that was to sit beside him scowling at Mo Yuans unseemly behaviour, which was how he dealt with grief.
Out of all of them, he was the one who was most in tune with traveling spirits, having worked heavily over the past few years dealing with the dying and the passing of their spirit forms. Many had tried to return, and some continued to hover above their burial sites for days until they too moved on.
So he was actually the one who had noticed her return, before Gaogui informed them all, but he had sat back watching for a few seconds in awe.
He had sat too stunned to move. He listened as the boy continued to gain his fathers attention, and he watched on as her family ran forward, but the moment Di Jun rose to also move forward, he was one his feet in a second.
Thanks in large part to Mo Yuans return, he had learned even more about the way a returning spirit places itself and how long it takes for the spirit to settle. Now having seen for himself how well her spirit had easily connected to her body, there was no reason why she should not awaken.
Lightly stroking her cheek, Zhe Yan tried again. "Xiao Wu, open your eyes." he said a little more firmly.
No one moved a muscle, but all eyes were on when her eyes finally flickered softly. A gasp could be heard from the side, but other than that no sound came as they then watched as her eyes slowly opened in his direction.
Blinking rapidly to adjust her sight, she looked up at Zhe Yan and smiled.
"Zhe Yan." she whispered softly as large tears slipped off his lashes. They were the first tears he had shed for many years. Hardened because of the destruction, he did not allow himself the luxury of crying, instead he had blocked his emotions in order to deal with the aftermath. But the sight of her beautiful face now flushed with life and her eyes open looking directly at him, had the tears he had held back for so long, raining down his face.
