Waking to the sounds of soft movement in his chamber, Mo Yuans eyes opened immediately. For the first time that week since she had left, he had slept well. Now wide awake and turning his head, he was surprised to find his breakfast already served along with a fresh pot of tea and Gaogui sitting down at the low table eating.
Looking out towards the window, the sun was yet to rise but he felt it wasn't too far off, so sitting up he grinned softly to himself. Finally! he said to himself as his son looked up.
"You're awake." he said before pouring his father a cup of hot tea.
"How long have you been awake?" he asked throwing his legs over the side of the bed to rise.
"Not long. Chang Shan already had breakfast ready and being your son, it seems only right that I be the one to serve you this morning." he said grinning at him.
Watching his son eat while he dressed, he couldn't help but laugh at that statement, his son was so busy serving himself he had forgotten to bring an extra bowl with him. Though the tea was hot and steeped perfectly, he said nothing as he took a sip. The fact that he had thought to bring breakfast to his chamber was considerate.
"You have gone over the itinerary with Die Feng?" he asked as he sat down and conjured a bowl for himself. Though the sudden blush on his sons face, had him smiling as he realized he had forgotten to bring him one.
"Yes. We start as soon as breakfast is done. He is already up and gathering your Disciples as we speak." he said finishing his porridge.
Looking up briefly, Mo Yuan was a little taken aback by that statement. Referring to them as his Disciples suggested his son did not feel a part of the overall family and this saddened him. He had been missing for most of his life, so of course he did not expect his son to feel overly close to him or his brothers which is what they were, but he only then realized just how vast the distance was.
"Goagui. I know I have not been there for you over the years, and I am truly sorry for that, but after today, you will have a complete family. I want you to understand that we are both here for you now." he said with a soft gaze, one that Gaogui wasn't opposed to, but he did find it a little confusing.
"I know father." he replied with a quirk of his brows not understanding the sudden outburst but knowing it was important to him.
About to say more, they were soon interrupted by Zhe Yan who had already visited the dining hall looking for him.
"Good. You're up." he said taking a seat beside Gaogui who was packing away his dishes.
"Good morning Uncle. I'll go get rid of these and come back with with the others." he said rising as Mo Yuan conjured another cup.
"I want to have a word with Mo Yuan then we'll both meet you at the hot spring." he said pouring himself a drink, then waiting for the boy to leave, he threw up a barrier.
"I honestly never thought this day would come." Zhe Yan said grinning at him. And he truly hadn't. Though he never said much regarding the two of them, especially during the long years of slumber, he had not held out much hope of him returning let alone marrying the girl who had given everything of herself to bring him back to her.
Nodding, Mo Yuans mind briefly went back to the chaos. "Had Gaogui not been with me, I may not have come back." he said honestly.
"It must have been hard you." he replied watching his expression closely.
Nodding again, he put the cup down gently. "My soul had shattered into tiny pieces. Initially, Ye Hua had come to assist, but Gaogui was the one who stayed with me the entire time." he said becoming a little emotional.
