Finally free of the barrier, Mo Yuan half ran, half flew towards them both. His eyes remained on her collapsed form as the Dragon once again returned to human form. He saw the white hair and the tall frame come into view. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered how he had produced a son so beautiful. Ye Hua and Zhe Yan had told him that he took his features from both of them, but he clearly saw her in him, he was a stunning specimen but the harder he tried to run, the more difficult it became.
Ye Hua too was running, he could see Bai Qian was injured, though from where he was, he didn't think it would take much to heal. He also noticed Gaogui bend over her to place his hand above her heart. The blood had stopped flowing as they knew it would. The Foxes heart was exceptionally strong, even without its powerful magic. Once pierced, it would only bleed a few drops before it stopped, this was a form of self preservation and the reason why a Fox's heart was so powerful.
But like Mo Yuan, he also felt as if he were taking one step forward and three steps back. Something was terribly wrong, but in the initial moments, neither were thinking too hard about anything but the two in the center of the desert lands.
But the moment they began to sway in his vision, Ye Hua instantly took stock of the situation being that much more clear headed than Mo Yuan who had only one thing on his mind. It had taken only seconds but everything was running through his head at the same time, but in those seconds he realized something was just wasn't right.
The ground was not only moving but a slow build up of sound could be heard, even through the barrier. The thousands on the other side could not be heard, the barrier had been sound proofed in order to limit all distractions, but he could hear a distinct low rumbling that was gathering in intensity. And as that thought hit, the ground began to swell outwards, until cracks began to appear.
Turning towards his brother, he thought he might have yelled a warning, but it was quickly lost when the cracks formed large fissures before spreading out in all directions. Bai Qian and Gaogui too had begun to notice the sound and were already on their feet when the entire desert lands ruptured beneath their feet.
Huge gaping chasm opened before all four were thrown up into the air.
Momentarily disorientated, all four looked down at the land. But it was Gaogui who realized what was happening. In the air and out of harms way, he quickly took hold of his mother and pulled her out of the way just in time, as fire suddenly erupted from the broken shattering earth below them.
The barrier was instantly dispersed from the sheer power that had been forced upwards, and those that could fly, immediately took to the air while those that could not tried to outrun the gaping chasms that were swallowing them whole. Untold lives were lost in those few minutes that it took for Gaogui to realize what was happening.
"Gui Gui, the land, what the hell is going on?" she yelled over the top of the sudden eruption of noise. Not only were the multitude of voices from the thousands swarming the skies around them, but there was a sound coming from far away and it was growing louder.
"I'm not entirely sure mother, but I know for certain it has something to do with Qing Cang." he screamed back as Ye Hua reached their side looking very pale and scared.
Having been thrown much higher in the air than they were, he had seen what was causing the sound. Pointing towards the far east, he quickly threw a barrier around them so they could hear each other. "Something is happening in the far east, I can't quite see it, but the entire land is on the move and it seems to be moving in that direction.
Forcing themselves higher so they too could see what he was talking about, all three opened their inner sight. The Dragon eyes had the strongest vision of all the inner beasts, so they were able to see far into the distance, more so than Bai Qian, but she had seen more than enough to understand the enormity of what was happening, but as to why, she had no idea.
