Taking a large armful of his diaries which were all in chronological order, Bai Qian made her way to the library.  It was still morning and with not a lot to do, she soon settled herself into one of the large cushions that took up one whole corner of the vast room and with a screen raised to hide behind, she knew she would not be disturbed for some time.

Chang Shan had already prepared a hot pot of tea for her and it was waiting the moment she entered.  Now resting in the sun which was softly warming that corner of the room, she opened the first scroll.  Most of what was written were spells and energy wave information which she understood but did not understand why they were among his diaries.

But as she slowly made her way through the first five scrolls, she soon came to realize they were the spells and the energy forms he had used to create The Fan of Kunlun.  Fascinated she reread each scroll again until she fully understood how he had created it.  And for a brief moment, she had closed her eyes in reverence for the mans exceptional knowledge and skill.  She did not believe there was another man alive who could have created such a weapon so artfully.

He had created it solely because he was bored.  He had achieved everything he had ever set out to do, even his Disciples had gained world renown under him but for many years he had felt as if he had come to a cross roads in his life and with no wars on the horizon or any other urgent issues that required his attention, he soon began to wonder what life might have in store for him when he thought he had lived it all.

For a long time, he had thought about The Bell of Kunlun and he began to devise another weapon, one that was not as powerful, but one that could create serious damage.  And within no time at all, he had found his passion rising as the Fan began to take shape.  Initially he was going to create another sword, much like his own, but there were already many swords in his world that held enormous power, and it was only when he happened to take a walk about the grounds that the wind also began to pick up.

The sudden swift feeling of air striking his face, gave him the idea of creating a fan.  There were of course many fan weapons in the world, but he wanted to create The Fan of them all.  This one would be his greatest achievement to date.  And as she read how he then created the fan from one piece of bamboo, she sat enthralled as he then took her on a journey of creation and self discovery, where he also learned that his heart was not as full as he thought it was.

By the time he had finished, he soon came to realize that the Fan was created for a woman, one he knew he had yet to meet.  It was as if fate itself had taken over his mind as he created it, he had no one in mind for it at the time, but he knew it would be someone special.

But soon enough, the next few scrolls were opened until she completely lost herself in his past.  Mo Yuan was a skilled writer.  They might be mere diaries, but with so much detail present, she could almost smell the places he went, hear the voices as they spoke and clearly see the faces he talked to.

And before she knew it, she was reading about a dream he had the night before her arrival.  He had spent the entire night in a cave somewhere in the far North where the Fan was created.  And In his dream, the Fan was calling its mate towards it.

Interesting! She thought to herself.  It was then that the memory of a similar dream she had had only the night before her arrival.  In her dream she was in the dark and a soft voice had called out her name several times.  She had completely forgotten about it, and the scroll brought it back to mind.

Mo Yuan had awoken the following morning uneasy but excited, because he did not know what the day would bring for him, but he instinctively knew something was coming and he had to return to Kunlun Mountain to be there when it did.
