300 Years Later

The Ghost Realm

"Where is he." Yan Zhi snapped as she made her way towards the back of the Palace which would take her to the small corridor that led to JLi Jings private wing.

"He is in your fathers study." General Mao, her brothers personal General and close confidante said as he tried to steer her in the right direction.

Stopping in her tracks, Yan Zhi spun around to glare at him.  "My fathers study?" she whispered.

For 300 years her brother had led her Tribe in silence.  Fully hidden behind an impenetrable barrier which he had then layered with illusion shields, The Entire Ghost Tribe had then disappeared from view.  No one left and no one entered.  Those who had been caught outside of its barrier, either died, or left to begin new lives among the other lower Realms that would take them. That included the Mortal world where many had come to her for assistance over the ensuing years.

Only she and her brother had the spells needed to pass through them, but the last time she had visited, everything had seemed fine.  Her people were thriving again under him despite the lack of outside influence.  There was plenty of food and housing for them all.  Children were born and their lives they had once known became joyful and prosperous.

But she knew as well as he did, it would not last forever, regardless of the enormous effort he had put into healing the deep and painful wounds they had all suffered after the war.

The dreams started again 1 year before, but having satisfied herself that nothing had changed, even going so far as to making quiet enquiries from the higher Immortals that sometimes visited her establishment, she had learned nothing of interest.  The War God was back and had secluded himself along with his Disciples on Kunlun Mountain.  Though there had been sightings of Dong Hua Di Jun coming and going, nothing out of the ordinary that she could see was taking place.

And that had her wondering about her dreams.  Were they as reliable as they once were? she had wondered to herself.  The Bell had tolled in his return, news spread fast that he had indeed returned, but her dream had also seen the return of her father, yet there had been no sighting of him anywhere.

They had scouts in every corner of their world, though mostly in the darker Realms, she would know if he had returned.  A very large reward was offered for any sightings, one that would see a man wealthy enough to buy an entire Realm of his own, so for no word to come of his return had her looking at the dream again and again.

In the end, she put it down to mixed messages, perhaps her fathers face came with Mo Yuans return because they had both died from the same destructive device.  High God Mo Yuans face would always remind her of her father, after all she had watched both men lose their lives to it.  Once she had that thought in mind, she let them both go and moved on.

Eventually too, Li Jing had let the idea of his return go and  lowered the barriers, freeing them all from isolation which had seen his people fully gather to support him in his return to the world stage.

That had only been a few months before and everything seemed to be going well.  Their people had once again picked up their old trading networks and friendships they had once known, and to her, Li Jing had matured enough to run their Tribe with confidence and competence.

Only this new dream had her once more rushing back.  The two faced man.  Mo Yuan and her father shared the one face, the one body and one soul.  So returning to the Ghost Realm she informed her brother of the return of the dream, and he in turn sought out men who knew more about the sharing of souls and the possibility of two men from High and Low Realms sharing the one soul.  All had informed him that such a possibility was impossible.
