Kunlun Mountain Part 4 - The Return

Epilogue 4 - Zhe Yan 3

Almost throwing Lord Puas guards across the forecourt, Bai Qian stormed into his Palace with her energy raging so furiously that Mo Yuan was forced to intervene before she set off his beasts who were not happy with their sudden loud arrival.

"Would you calm yourself down!" he ordered seeing as her energy was fully open and searching the entire Palace which every beast there could feel.

"I can't feel them!" she screamed hysterically against him, having been forced into his arms while Mo Yuans own energy sought them out but at a much softer rate.

"Throwing your energy around like that will only increase the fear for these beasts, pull it back in." he snapped as he forced her attention to a small gathering of baby phoenixes who were all crying for their mother, an enormously powerful phoenix that was in the air circling her babies protectively.

Realizing her mistake, she quickly pulled it back, but by the time her energy was at its lowest level, the Phoenix mother dove directly at them.  Screeching manically, its flame was the first to hit them, sending them both flying into a surrounding brick wall, where an immediate barrier was thrown up around the two of them, while Zhe Yan dove for the safety of the Palace itself already aware she was about to hit.

Yelling at them to both get undercover, the guards were also sent scattering in every direction as the giant Phoenix continued to dive and soar angrily above them and unable to defend themselves against it seeing as their energy would hurt the babies, Zhe Yan knew he was the only one that could control it and as Lord Pua was nowhere in sight, he quickly dove back out into the forecourt..

Behind him the maids were screaming in fear, and to his right he could see Mo Yuan ready to erupt his Dragon which would work, but in the end would only hurt the creature.  Instead he flew into the air fully erupting his beast and flying straight at it.

Glancing back once, Zhe Yan watched as Bai Qian struggled against Mo Yuans strong hold to free herself in order to get into the Palace, but seeing the Phoenix babies were still in a state of heightened fear, he knew it would only agitate them more.

"Damn it Qian Qian.  You are increasing their fear, stop it!" he yelled down into her face and finally bringing her under control.

Turning her head to the skies, she was just in time to see Zhe Yans enormous wing span envelope the mother into a soft embrace.  For a few minutes they remained spinning in the air, their flames mingling as one and as they watched, his flame began to smother her own until she surrendered to him.  It was truly a magnificent sight to watch as Zhe Yans powerful beast fully brought the mother under control.  Then just as gently as he had overpowered her, he lowered the both of them to the forecourt where she could see for herself that her children were fine.  

But no sooner had he led her to their nest, than the gowns of two small human babies came into view.  There in the middle of the nest and surrounded by the Phoenix babies, curled up in each others arms under a glowing golden bubble of energy fast asleep, were the twins.

Immediately, the Phoenix mother took human form to look down at the human Dragon babies asleep in her nest.  And ever so gently she lowered her hands to lift the entire bubble of energy into her arms where she gently rocked their sleeping forms tenderly.

"I found them wandering about the forecourt.  No one was with them so I put them in my nest to protect them until the mother arrived.  However her energy is too powerful, she was hurting my children." she explained loud enough for Bai Qian to hear her.

Almost throwing Mo Yuan off her, the barrier around them dispelled and her legs took of running the short distance with her arms out.  "They are my children." she said in an almost accusatory tone before taking hold of the children as the bubble of energy dispelled.
