Placing his mother on the crystal dais, Gaogui immediately sent out a thought message to inform Lanhua that they had arrived.  The crystal dais he had placed her on, was a healing platform.  The moment her body was laid out, the energy began to fill the air immediately around the dais while gently caressing her body, aura, soul and mind.  It was a gentle healing that would take time, because her core essence and elite cultivation had been almost depleted completely.  When both energies are depleted, the body immediately begins to shut down, which was what happened to his Grandmother.  Had a healing dais been available for her, she would have survived.

Now looking down at his mothers face, he watched as every scar was first healed as the energy fully swept about her form clearing away the injuries from the battle.  Only when the physical is healed could the energy then move into a deeper and more thorough healing, and that being her core centres which even he could see had collapsed.

The tone of her skin had taken on a deathly gray, he knew if he had not removed her when he had, she would have died, but as he watched the energy making its way into energy centres, the dark tone began to lighten.

"Gaogui." a soft voice that he knew well, called from behind.

Turning, he faced the man who had been a father to him most of his life, a man he loved dearly.  "She is so close to death Lanhua, why did you not tell us of the final fate?" he asked unable to keep his emotions in check or the question unasked.  He was angry and Lanhua could see it.

"Take a walk with me.  She will not be going anywhere for some time." he said having moved closer to study her.

Then turning his back, he walked towards the door and waited as Gaogui slowly brought his anger under control.  One of his first lessons he had received when he was young, was learning to control his anger.  The Orchid people did not anger at anyone or anything.  This was an emotion they had let go many millennia before because it was not healthy nor was it conductive to the health of their minds and spirits.  That also included hate, jealousy, fear or sorrow.  They lived very simple lives which encompassed every positive emotion known in order to maintain their peaceful lifestyle.  So he knew, it he were to get any answers, he needed to pull himself together, because Lanhua would not talk to him until he did.

Calming down as he had been taught to do, he did not look back at his mother, because he knew to do so would only anger him again.  Though he had done for her what he could, only the energy she was receiving would heal her and as Lanhua had said, it would take time.

Meeting him at the door way, the air gave way beneath his feet until they found themselves in the Orchid gardens where his mother had first arrived.

Walking beside him, Gaogui allowed the lighter energy to refill him.  The war had also depleted his own energy and having fought in a battle so horrendous, he breathed the air in deeply.

"Would it help if I told you that not even I knew the entire fate of your world?' Lanhua asked as they slowly walked the petal strewn path.

Looking up at him, Gaogui found that very hard to believe.  From the very beginning Lanhua had prepared him for his fathers return.  He had always been led to believe that his fathers fate as well as his mothers and his own were intertwined.  That he had been given an insight into his own future, gifted strengths and power beyond imagination and then given the chance to do great things with it, had always led him to believe that saving his father and the world from catastrophe had been the fate he had prepared for.

But Lanhua never lied.  None of them did, so to be told that not even he knew the entire fate of his world came as quite a shock.

"No one knows their entire fate Gaogui, you know this.  Even though we are considered to be fate itself, not even we are given the fate in its entirety.  All information you were given was what your fate deemed appropriate." he said while ignoring the sudden flare in the boys eyes, though he continued to talk to him in his slow soft gentle tone.
