Walking into his Chamber, Mo Yuan was surprised to find the twins asleep in his bed and their mother nowhere in sight. Frowning, but not overly concerned, he tucked the blanket up around their bodies before patting each one on the head gently. He knew Gaogui was on the mountain, and as that thought struck, his son entered behind him.
"You're back." he said greeting him warmly before checking on his brothers.
"Where's your mother?" he asked removing his outer robe having just returned from the Celestial Palace to assist Ye Hua with the date for his Coronation to Heavenly Lord. It had taken the entire day to sort through every auspicious date, but it was eventually settled on. In three years time when the veil between Heaven and Earth would be at its weakest, because Ye Hua would fully govern all laws pertaining to the Earth and every Mortal that dwelt there, it was the perfect date.
"With Zhen Yan. She wasn't feeling well, so left to fetch some more of those morning sickness elixirs, she ran out." he said before turning to see his father putting the robe back on.
Exhausted, he sighed deeply. His wifes insistence on keeping her morning sickness from him so he wouldn't worry, only made him worry more. The first two years of her pregnancy had been just as easy as the first, only this time the morning sickness hit in the end stages of the third year, which apparently wasn't normal, but seeing as Zhe Yan wasn't too worried, he tried not to be too.
"Has Chang Shan returned or is he still here?" he asked having almost made it to the door.
"He's still here, he wanted a word with you before he leaves." Gaogui replied before moving to his mothers writing desk to take up a blank sheet of parchment. Ye Hua had been giving him art lessons, and because the Twins were asleep, he decided to try his hand at painting them.
"Tell him to go home, he's been here for a week already" he said before leaving the mountain for The Peach Tree Woods.
No matter how many more children Chang Shan produced, Mo Yuan could not make him stay at home with his wife. Kunlun Mountain was so ingrained into the mans psych, that he could not stay away and from the kitchen especially. He returned at least once a week to cook his meal sometimes more. Eventually the one day became two and then three and now a week. He knew he was going to have to talk to the man or else his marriage would suffer.
Though he stopped calling him Shifu when Zi Lan addressed him as High God Mo Yuan. They all stopped calling him Shifu which initially threw him, but as the years passed, it felt very good to have let them all go.
The youngest boys were still being prepared for a Discipleship which he hoped to give to Gaogui when he was ready to take over. Mo Yuan was growing tired of the title Master of Kunlun and no matter how often his beautiful wife insisted she didn't mind the title of Mistress, he knew she hated it. So lately he had begun to teach his son in earnest for the day he rose to take the mantel from him. In fact, just that thought alone had him thinking of their rock in the cosmos. He wanted to make it a permanent home. The twins were growing and taking them on excursions to other worlds would be just as beneficial as classroom lessons.
Now somewhere in the sky lost to his thoughts, he smiled at the idea knowing Bai Qian would not be opposed, she loved their little sanctuary as much as he did. Evening was just falling, the moon was shining brightly, and though the wind was moving at a brisk pace, the trip was so pleasant that he began to feel invigorated. Slowing the cloud down a little to draw the flight out a little longer, his mind began to meander backwards, something he had been doing a lot of lately.
No matter how full his days were and how many issues seemed to find him, he always found time to dwell on his blessings, and Bai Qian was definitely one of them, but so too were the lives of her brothers. So much had happened since the Graduation.
