The Ghost Realm.

One month ago:

With an armful of books under his arm, Zhe Yan headed straight for Kunlun Mountain alongside The Empress who was carrying one ancient scroll that she had found among her own collection of ancient spells.  Together, they had poured over the contents of every book of magic they could find, especially those of the Dark Realms until eventually they found what they considered to be the answer to the question that had been on all of their minds for weeks.

Entering Mo Yuans study where he was awaiting their arrival, they found him also pouring of old manuscripts from his archives and the moment they entered, a barrier went up behind them.

"We found it." Zhe Yan said placing the books on the desk in front of him.  Behind him, sitting at the low table was Bai Qian who was playing with the twins, but she was very much a part of the conversation.

"It seems as if Qing Cangs Grandfather spent a lot of time inventing spells to increase his clans cultivation.  He had always believed that his people were the gateway between the Dark Realms and the Light Realms, or rather, they had reached a stage in their evolution to take their growth one step further and grow as souls in order to reach the same level of Immortality that we have, while also giving them the choice to rebirth themselves as Light Beings."  The Empress said with a look of wonder on her face for the mans insight.

"That is correct.  All souls born to the Dark Lands have the ability to evolve, they are several steps above the soul of a Mortal but still several steps below us in evolution, so of course they can increase their soul growth through cultivation." Mo Yuan nodded though still unsure of where they were going with it and how it pertained to his son and brother s disappearance.

"Of course we know that many of the Ghost Tribe inhabitants are much more evolved than those of the lowest Realms, but they are still Darklanders, their magical abilities should not be able to affect us too much." Zhe Yan said as he opened a book he had found among Di Juns private collection.

Turning the book around, Mo Yuan looked down at the small painting of Qing Cangs Grandfather.  He was a man he had never had the privilege of meeting, but from what he had read of him, he was a man he would have liked, a man who was perhaps too far ahead of his time.  His dreams for his people had been big,  perhaps too big for most but he was a realist too, and a righteous one.

"His Halberd was his everlasting masterpiece that he left behind for future generations.  It was more that just a mere weapon.  In his Halberd, he had placed a piece of his own soul, which holds every spell he had ever created and it was this magic that Qing Cang had used to split pieces of his own soul and how he was able to modify the Bell of East Emperor and tamper with the Creation Chambers barrier."  Zhe Yan explained.

"Interesting!" Mo Yuan said frowning.  This was a magic he had learned a little about but did not know the intricacies.  And the more he learned, the more respect he had for his Grandfather.  He had known of the mans immense intelligence, but as with most men who fly under the radar, it is not normally known of until many years after their deaths when their deeds such as this is brought to life.

"So what we have is an inherited Halberd that contains enormous power that we have never really seen in action as Qing Cang used it solely for battle.  But it seems as if his Granddaughter has taken the time to learn of its true magnificence because one of the spells he implanted in the weapons core, is the spell to send any soul for cultivation gathering regardless of their origin." The Empress said before lowering the scroll she was holding onto.

And as Mo Yuan read through the contents quickly, his eyes began to widen.

"Where did you get this?" he asked more than a little stunned.  What he was looking at seemed to be the original manuscript for the mans spell, it contained his own seal.
