It was several weeks after their tryst in the Mortal realm before Ye Hua saw Gaogui again.  Being the Crown Prince of the Celestial Tribe, all gossip swirling was brought to his attention no matter how big or small, and one that seemed to creating quite a stir among the women in particular, was his friend was leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake.

From what he had heard, girls from all over their world were descending on Kunlun Mountain in droves in the hope that they might be lucky enough just to gain a glimpse of him.  Though he was aware that he too was creating just as much of a stir, though unlike Gaogui, he cared a little too much.

Some girls, he had found to be quite lovely, and had invited to share his spare time on more than one occasion even though he had a rule not to, though he was always careful to ensure none of them got pregnant.  The wine he gave them also contained a contraceptive.  Di Jun had made it very clear that any woman who managed to ensnare him with a child in her belly would see him taking full responsibility which he was not ready for.

And that thought took his mind back to Shao Wan.  He had no intention of marrying the woman, but he did want to meet with her.  He, like Gaogui and his mother had given so much to see her return to the man she had supposedly loved above all others.

A man he still respected and one he would always be indebted to.  And having had enough time to consider what a marriage to her would mean for himself and the world, he very quickly threw the idea from his mind.

The world would never accept her as The Heavenly Empress for a start, and that was exactly what she wanted.  She had once ruled over a vast majority of the Demon lands and their allies.  Her name had been revered alongside his brother, Di Jun, Lord Honghui and others, and being the only female High Goddess at the time and an exceptionally beautiful one, she also ruled the hearts of men.

So he understood her desire to return to what she had once known.  And he also had a strong suspicion that she blamed Honghui for the position she had found herself in.  But regardless of the enormous love the two had for each other, it seemed as if status and wealth meant far more to her which saddened him.

So much had been done over the years to ensure everyone had access to wealth and those in high positions were not taking at the expense of others.  Wealth was being distributed evenly among the commoners in order to close the wide gap between those like himself and the those without titles so long as they earned it.  This was also to ensure peace.  Wars erupted because of poverty and need, and with the help of the Overlords teachings, he had begun to implement changes the moment he returned.  So her desire for more than what she was prepared to earn only increased his dislike for her.

But he had called a meeting with her regardless and it would take place that afternoon.   Di Jun had suggested it would be wise if he attended, but this was something he wanted to do on his own.   As the Crown Prince, he did not have the right to meet any potential wife in private, however he had insisted. This was going to be a meeting that would be on his terms and follow his protocols which he was sure the woman would prefer as well.

And he knew Di Jun was not happy, and nor did he understand his need to meet with her alone, let alone at all, and that was because he knew he just wouldn't understand.

Eventually his mind had returned to the Grand Hall of Kunlun and the moment it was made known that she had sought both of their hands in marriage.  Instantly Mo Yuan had risen to completely destroy the idea for Gaogui.  He saw the outrage and anger in all of their faces and for a brief moment, he had felt the full love of his family.  People he had thought held the same level of commitment to him as they did with Gaogui.

Yet, the emotion soon died when none stood for him to offer the same outrage and anger other than Gaogui.  Instead he was asked if he wanted the marriage.  And as much as he understood the reasoning, being the Crown Prince, he had been hurt by it.
