third person pov - one month later

"Why are you mad," Scarlett asked Yanjun with her cheeks stuffed. They were sitting in his car in the parking lot of the shopping center near their house.

"You never listen," Yanjun muttered leaning his head against his window as he stared forward with an angry look on his face. "I told you you could only get one and you got two."

"Because I couldn't choose which one to get. There was original and chocolate. I had to get them," she told him, turning in her chair with a small box that had two donuts in it while the third one was already in her mouth.

"We said only one and you got two. We agreed on only getting one each and you're over here eating two. We went over it five times before we even got here. I knew I should've went inside," Yanjun shook his head, running a hand through his hair.

"Yanjun, if you're mad we can just half the second one," Scarlett shrugged her shoulders since the boy was making such a big deal out of it.

"We've been doing good on our workouts the past two weeks and you're throwing it away eating more sweets. We said we were working out together not pigging out together. If I wanted to do that I would've just asked Zhangjing."

"It's just a donut..."

"Crimson, it's not just a donut! It's 255 calories and 18 grams of sugar. You're eating two so it's going to be 510 calories and 36 grams of sugar," Yanjun turned in his spot and pointed at the box of donuts like it was a snake. Scarlett blinked at him while she swallowed the rest of her donut that was in her mouth.

"So...do you want me to eat yours too?"

"Oh my god," Yanjun groaned covering his face with his hand.

"I'm kidding," she giggled grabbing Yanjun's other hand. "If you don't want me to eat it I'll just throw it away, but think about how sad it will be. It thought it was going to be eaten, but my boyfriend said I'm not allowed to eat it."

"You're unbelievable, you know that," Yanjun asked dropping his hand and looking towards her as he allowed her to intertwine their fingers. "You also have chocolate on your face," he muttered leaning over and giving her a kiss on the lips.

"I didn't even eat the chocolate one, you loser," she laughed as she pushed him off, holding up the box of donuts that clearly had an original glazed donut and a chocolate one. Yanjun picked it up and took a bite out of it before handing it to her.

"You can eat it now, but next time I'm serious. Only one or else I'll make you run a mile more," he said and she nodded her head before stuffing the sweet into her mouth. He took the last donut and began to eat it as he watched her doing her little happy dance as she ate. "Anyways, I was thinking since school ended we could go see my family..."

Scarlett paused. Yanjun saw how still she became and he suddenly became shy about the whole thing.

"I-I mean if you want to meet them. I-"

"Of course I want to meet them," Scarlett said turning to him. "I just didn't think you'd want to introduce me since you know...we haven't been together long and the other boys told me you didn't even take Yunyu to meet them and you were with her for a year or so..."

"You're different though," Yanjun nodded his head slowly. "You're really...childish and annoying."

"Hey, you're the annoying one," she slapped his arm playfully, but kissed his cheek. "But yes, I'd love to meet your family."

"I'll let my mom know. I hope it won't be too hard for you with your online classes."

"I'll be fine. Don't worry about it," Scarlett smiled.

"You'll be going back to the States in three weeks, you'll have a little time on your own until then with the exception of your classes," Mr. Qui told Scarlett over the phone. She was looking through her desk, trying to clean up a little since she had stuffed all her notes and school things in it.

"Please tell me I'm not staying in a hotel. I don't fancy stairs or the elevator, if you haven't noticed."

"I've been looking for a home for you to stay when you come and go. I'll send you what I find, but I'm not too worried about that right now. Our main focus is to get you up to date with what's happening with our opponents and associates, not to mention your education. I'm also thinking about hiring another assistant for you since I have a lot to deal with already. Is that alright with you, Ms. Huang?"

"Please stop calling me that."

"You need to get used to formalities. We don't just call each other by our first names in the business world."

"I'm aware, but I've known you for the most part of my life so it would be great if I could have someone-"

"Very well, Xiulan. Now, are you okay with me hiring another assistant or not?"

"Do what you seem fit. I don't need you blowing a gasket," Scarlett chuckled, imagining the man rubbing his temples out of stress.

"Thank you. I will contact you soon so be sure to have your phone."

"Kids have their phones all the time these days, no need to worry, Yihui. Anyways, I'll let you go. Goodbye."

"Goodbye, Xiulan."

With that, Scarlett hung up the phone. She let out a long sigh as she threw her phone onto her bed and worked on her desk.

"I wish I could organize my life as easy as this."
