The sunlight seeped through the window and illuminated the bedroom. The couple slept soundly, legs tangled together like the roots of an old tree and Yanjun's heart was steadily beating against his chest and Scarlett's back. An arm was placed under her neck while the other was around her waist, holding the two of them together.

It didn't take Yanjun long to wake up. A beam of sunlight hit his eyes and he quietly came to, but let a tiny groan slip from his lips. He held Scarlett a little tighter and buried his face into her strawberry and vanilla scented hair.

"Yanjun," Scarlett muttered, her eyes still closed. "Babe, are you awake?"

"Mhmm," he hummed before pressing a kiss onto her bare shoulder. A tired smile pulled onto her lips as she turned in the sheets. She wrapped her arms around him, under his arms before pressing herself to him.

"I love you," she whispered, kissing his chest then resting her head against him. Yanjun grinned at his tired girl and rubbed circles into her back.

"I love you too, Crimson."

The couple laid in bed until they heard a knock on her bedroom door. Yanjun got out of bed and when he did, the sleeping Scarlett reached out to look for him without opening her eyes.

"Hold on, Baby," he chuckled, pulling on a pair of boxers before unlocking the door and opening it to see Xukun. He was wearing a sweater, black pants, and a pair of adidas.

"Ziyi misplaced his car keys and he can't find them. We're going to be late and Ting-ge already left so we kind of need a ride," he said, scratching the back of his neck.

"Can't you just hot wire it or something," Scarlett groaned from the bed, throwing the sheets over her head to hide from the sun light.

"Sorry, Scarlett, but we're not all delinquents like you."

"And thank God for that because life would not be easy," Scarlett replied, her voice muffled.

Yanjun sighed and nodded his head at Kunkun, "I'll be ready in 15."

"Thanks, Ge," Xukun smiled before walking off. Yanjun closed the door behind him just as Scarlett moved the blankets from her face.

"Why do you know how to do all those crazy stuff like pick a lock and hot wire a car," Yanjun asked Scarlett as he went and sat on the edge of the bed, beside her.

"Because I'm a really cool person with mad skills and amazing intelligence," she replied, grabbing his hand and kissing it.

"As true as that may be, I'm serious," he responded, watching her hold his hand to her face like she was cuddling with it.

Her eyes flickered up at him as she bit the inside of her cheek. She didn't have much time with him since he had school and she decided that it would be okay to let him in on a small secret.

"I'll answer honestly, but don't judge me too hard, okay?"

"I won't," he shook his head, rubbing his thumb across her cheek bone.

"Okay...I was part of a really bad group of people and we would do the craziest things like steal cars and break into buildings. Most of them were abandoned, but they were still locked up. I learned most of the things from them and they kind of just planted it all into my brain," Scarlett spoke, looking off and thinking about the time in her life.

"As crazy as you are, I can't imagine you doing that type of stuff...is that why you were arrested before too," Yanjun asked and she nodded her head. "How'd you get involved with them in the first place...? Was it cause that Carson guy?"

"Yeah, cause Carson," the name was foreign in her mouth. She hated the name just like she hated his birth name, she never wanted to speak them, but there she was saying them out loud.

"Uh...what uh...what happened between the two of you? Why'd you break up," Yanjun hesitated in asking. He watched as Scarlett took her bottom lip between her teeth in thought. A moment had passed and Yanjun was going to apologize, but Scarlett stopped him when she spoke.

"I didn't want to do those things anymore so I left him," her eyes looking away from him. "I wanted to go home so I left him and the group."

Of course, it wasn't the whole truth. She didn't leave. She didn't get to leave. Carson/Hunter had tortured her and still did in her sleep. He was the reason she wasn't the same and he was the reason it took so long for Scarlett to give herself to anyone. Her heart had been torn and burned into nothing but ashes until Yanjun. She had been a walking corpse only living for her family, but now she had someone who put her back together. Someone who truly loved her and someone she could love with the pieces of her heart that somehow survived.

"Didn't you love him though? I mean...Justin said-"

"I know. I loved him at one point, but he changed and the parts that I loved about him disappeared. He wasn't the same anymore and I could never love him again," she cut him off remembering Justin's words before looking at him. He met her gazed and she smiled a little, "besides, I have you and I could never love any other as much as I love you."

Yanjun knew she wasn't telling the whole truth, but that was good enough for him. She had opened up a little about the guy she seemed to be bad for and he was thankful that she opened up that much about it. He saw how much of a pain it was for her to talk about it, but he hadn't know she pushed most of it away and had a mask on.

Yanjun smiled down at the girl, "I love you too, Crimson."

"Good," she grinned and tugged his hand. "Let's cuddle just a little longer."

"But I have to get ready for-"

"I don't care. Love me."
