Yanjun and Scarlett sat in the grass in front of Mr. Lin's grave. Scarlett held his hand as the two of them talked to his father about them and what was going on. Her head rested on Yanjun's shoulder and Yanjun rest his on hers as they talked and laughed.
"If I knew we were coming here, I would've bought flowers," Scarlett said messing with Yanjun's fingers.
"It's okay. There's already flowers here, besides," Yanjun said digging into the pocket of his sweater before pulling out a folded envelope. "I always bring him a letter. It's kind of my flower."
Scarlett smiled, watching as he tucked the envelope into the bouquet of flowers. The wind blew lightly as he pulled his arm back into his lap and he squeezed her hand.
"I'm glad you brought me here...thank you," Scarlett spoke softly as she pulled away. Yanjun had a soft smile that made her heart melt like ice on a hot summer day.
"Thank you for being here with me," he whispered. Scarlett couldn't resist, she leant towards the boy and the two of them shared a delicate kiss. It was the gentlest kiss the couple had shared and Scarlett could feel her heart swelling in her chest. When she pulled away, she placed herself back into their comfortable position and they went back to talking to Yanjun's father.
Yanjun liked how natural Scarlett was talking to his father. He liked how she smiled so brightly talking about them and how she would throw her head back laughing at memories. It seemed everything about her made him smile and he was sure it made his dad smile too.
I'll bring her again when we come back, Yanjun thought as Scarlett talked about living with him and the other boys.

"I'm so sad the two of you are leaving. It felt like only a couple days even though it was a week and a half," Grandma frowned, hugging Scarlett as Yanjun hugged his Grandpa. The woman sway Scarlett back and forth in a warm, soft hug that Scarlett didn't want leave.
"We'll definitely come visit maybe we'll bring the boys along so they could help around the house," Scarlett smiled, planting a kiss on the older women's cheek.
"I don't know about that," Yanjun muttered as they switched and Scarlett hugged Grandpa.
"Bring them along. I'll be able to have more people to play chest with, don't get me wrong, Xiulan. It's nice playing with you, but sometimes I like to win."
"How do you think you'll get better, Gramps," she giggled, kissing his cheek too.
"Baby steps is the way to go," he replied with a proud smile.
"Can't argue with you there."
"Okay, kiddos. Time to hop into the car and get you to the port," Mrs. Lin said opening the front door. Scarlett frowned as she looked at the cozy home once more, she didn't like small spaces, but this was different. This felt like a real home, a place where she felt like she could stay forever.
Scarlett was the first to leave since it seemed that Yanjun's grandparents wanted a quick word alone with him.
"I wasn't sure what to expect from that girl," Grandpa told Yanjun, looking outside the window. "But I'm happy that you found her. She's what you call a keeper."
"Don't let her slip through your fingers. That girl might not have said she loved you, but actions speak louder than words. She's absolutely in love with you."

"I just want to keep the two of you here forever," Mrs. Lin sighed as she hugged the two of them. "Come back for whenever, hopefully some time soon, okay?"
"Yes, Mom," the couple replied, releasing her for individual hugs. Scarlett went first, Mrs. Lin seemed like she didn't want to let her go as she held tight to her.
"Keep an eye on that one for me. He's always getting into some kind of trouble," Mrs. Lin whispered so he couldn't hear.
"I know what you mean," Scarlett nodded and the two pulled apart, but his mom grabbed her hands in hers.
"Take care of yourself too, okay? I saw you working on school work whenever you got the chance. You work way too hard, Sweetie. Remember, youth doesn't last forever."
"I will," Scarlett smiled before they kissed each other's cheeks. "Thank you for having me. It was nice meeting you."
"You're so cute I just want to squeeze you," Mrs. Lin said wrapping her arms around the girl again and giving her the squeeze of a python.
"Okay, Mom. I don't need you to squeeze the life out of her," Yanjun cut in.
"Aww, okay."
