third person pov
"They did what?"
"Benny, just-"
"Xiulan," the boy with dark brown hair and pretty blue eyes looked at her. His thick, naturally perfect eyebrows scrunching together. His cheeks and nose were covered in freckles sitting on his tan skin. "They hurt you. You can't tell me to calm down after they were doing this shit to you."
"I know. I know," she replied with a sigh. A grunt left her lips as he cleaned the cut on her cheek that the group of girls had made.
"Have you told Car or Eunwoo," he sighed carefully handling her wounds. This was the third time he was doing so since she was often bullied for dating Eunwoo since a lot of girls liked him. This was the third time in the past two years of their relationship that she gotten beaten up physically.
"N-No," she stuttered and hissed.
"Sorry," he muttered, pulling away. He looked at the cut and grabbed the neosporin and a cotton swab. He squeezed a pea sized amount onto the swab before covering the cut with it. "This isn't healthy, Lani. Eunwoo's fangirls are getting out of hand and as much as I love you both this isn't cutting it."
"I know."
"If you know then why won't you listen to me? I give you solid advice," he sighed, pulling away. He grabbed her bloodied hand and analyzed it before deciding what to do with it.
"B-Because-"
"You're really stubborn? You want it to work? You love him," he asked carefully putting her hand on her lap before looking into the first aid kit.
"Yeah..."
Benny nodded his head knowing how she felt. He was her best friend after all and she told him everything so easily. The two of them were alike. They both had plan and goals and the two of them would help each other no matter what.
"I just...remember what we promised," Benny sighed, looking up to her as she sat on the counter of his bathroom sink. "That-"
"We would tell each other if something wasn't working, we have to leave it and follow through with our plan," Xiulan nodded her head.
"Exactly," Benjamin nodded his head, taking up the bandage roll. "I love you and Eunwoo, but I really think that this isn't going to work. Don't you?"
He didn't expect an answer and Xiulan knew, but nodded her head. He cleaned her hand and bandaged it careful not to cause any pain.
"You can't drum until that heals, okay?"
"What? But I-"
"Xiulan," Benny looked at her through his dark lashes.
"Fine," she pouted. He shook his head as his leaned forward, searching her face for cuts. She silently watched him and saw his lips turn up. "Don't you d- I hate you. What the hell did you eat? Is that...enchiladas?"
"Mom's recipe," he nodded, his burp wafting in the air. Xiulan pushed him back and pinched her nostrils closed.
"You're a fucking ass!"
"Your best friend is a fucking ass and I have a fucking ass. A nice one too."
"Narcissus."
"It's called confidence, Xiulan. Get like me."

"Jiejie," Chengcheng entered the kitchen where she was sitting at the table. She looked up from her laptop at him to see the mail in his hands.
"D-Did I get something," she asked and he nodded. He separated a couple envelopes before going over and handing them to her.
"Jiejie..."
"Yeah," she asked, placing the envelopes down for a moment. She didn't want to open anything in front of any of the boys or Xudan.
"Could I...could I ask you something?"
Yanjun entered the house after going to the store to pick a couple things up. He only went to get some groceries that Zhengting asked him to pick up, but he got Scarlett her "life line" along with some flowers that reminded him of her. He made his way to the kitchen, swinging the the plastic bag while his other hand held the bouquet of flowers.
"A date," he heard Scarlett's voice and raised an eyebrow as he stopped just in front of the door.
Date, Yanjun thought. Was someone asking her out on a date?
"Yeah...okay," she said after thinking for a moment and Yanjun entered, jaw clenching. He didn't look at her as he came in and put the plastic bag on the counter.
"Babe," Scarlett said, but frowned seeing his face contoured with irritation, hurt, and anger. "What's wrong?"
"Uh...I'll leave you with Jun-ge," Chengcheng stuttered. "Thanks for helping me with my...date."
"Sure thing," she smiled and Yanjun's jaw was on the floor.
"Y-You? You have a date?"
Chengcheng looked at him, his eyebrows furrowed.
"I'm not that ugly! You already got Scarlett why do you have to taunt me," Chengcheng pouted and stormed out of the kitchen grumbling about his looks.
"That wasn't so nice," Scarlett got up from her chair and made her way over to Yanjun. He looked down the hall as he listened to Chengcheng stomp up the stairs.
"My bad," Yanjun muttered before looking to Scarlett. He lifted the bouquet to her and she took them with a smile before looking up at him. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her against him. "I...I thought someone asked you on a date and...I thought you said yes..."
Scarlett pressed her lips together processing what he said. She should be angry at him for thinking such things, but decided against it.
"Why would I do that? The only person I want to be with is you," Scarlett asked.
"Because they could be more handsome than me."
"You know you're the most handsome man I've met. What happened to my narcissistic, confident boyfriend?"
