third person pov
On Monday, Yanjun and Scarlett spent the day together. On Tuesday, the boys went back to China while she stayed and worked.
As the summer days passed, Scarlett and Yanjun got into fights, mostly started by Scarlett. She would pick at the little things and blow them out of proportion, angering the male in the process. She ignored him and he would get angry and hurt over it. The two of them would be okay one day then fighting the next.
The day Scarlett came back to China was a day in which the couple was fighting, but nevertheless, Yanjun wanted to be the one to pick her up.
He waited at her gate, wanting nothing but to hold her in his arms. It had been a month since he had seen her in person and felt her smooth skin on his own. He missed her so bad that it felt like he couldn't breathe without her.
"Yanjun," a familiar voice had said. He followed the voice to see a girl only a little taller than his girlfriend. Her hair was straight and her face was without a doubt beautiful, but for Yanjun it wasn't as beautiful as Scarlett's.
"Jieqiong," he nodded his head as she came to stay beside him. "What are you doing here?"
"A couple of my friends are flying in for a visit...how about you," Jieqiong pushed some of her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear as her eyes flickered up to him.
"I'm here to pick up Scarlett...my girlfriend."
Jieqiong nodded her head looking away from him with a frown. Yanjun knew Scarlett didn't like the girl, but he didn't know how insecure she felt about the girl.
"Kyla! Sungyeon," the girl suddenly called with a smile making its way on her face. Yanjun saw the pretty smile and seemed to copy it.
Scarlett silently watched Yanjun look at Jieqiong with such a bright smile, but it only hurt her momentarily because her own situation.
"I feel bad that I can't work for you anymore. Even though it was really tiring and difficult I really enjoyed it," Yanchen told her with a proud smile.
"Don't worry about it, I'm happy you were my assistant. I couldn't have asked for anyone else," she said in all honesty. She had grown to trust Yanchen more and actually created a strong friendship with him.
"Yanchen," a voice called and the two of them saw Xingjie waving in their direction.
"He's my ride," Mr. Shiny Teeth motioned towards the older boy as he turned to her.
"I'll see you around," Scarlett smiled and the two shared a quick friendly hug.
"Call me if you need any help or something and don't work too hard. You'll grow grey hairs," he chuckled pulling away and ruffling her hair.
"I try, but it's too late I have grey hairs already. Thanks again, Chen-ge."
"No problem," he winked with a small wave before walking off.
Now Scarlett would have to work with Yihui. She had to pray for herself in that moment of realization.
"Hey."
Scar turned to see Yanjun awkwardly standing with his hands in his pockets with his thumbs sticking out. She noticed the watch she bought him glistening on his wrist and exhaled.
"Hi."

The drive home was awkward, filled with tension, but Yanjun hadn't know the real reason for it. He just assumed that Scarlett was still upset over their fighting.
He tried to make small talk or ask her if she was hungry or needed anything, but she either had small response or declined.
Even though it had been that way, Yanjun still felt happy that Scarlett was beside him. The sweet scent of her perfume danced through the air around him being spread around the small space by the AC in his car.
His teeth caught his bottom lip as he glanced over at Scarlett who looked out the window. Sometimes his eyes would flicker to her hands resting in her lap, wanting to take them in his own, but he knew better than to touch her when she wasn't in a good mood.
But when they got home, Yanjun couldn't take the distance between the two of them anymore. After parking the car, he quickly, but gently grabbed Scarlett by the face and kissed her. The kiss was a desperate one, one that screamed to her that he needed her that he wanted her, but Scarlett didn't kiss back and pulled away after a moment of contact. She didn't take her time to get out of the car, she bolted out and into the house leaving her luggage and a hurt Yanjun.
