third person pov"I think he's going crazy," Chengcheng muttered, staring at Yanjun who was smiling at the floor.
"Maybe he's thinking about how handsome he thinks he is," Linkai replied.
"He is handsome," Zhangjing claimed.
They were going to smack Yanjun out of his zoning out, but they heard the front door open and that made Yanjun snap out of whatever he was thinking about.
They heard the door close and were about to get off the couch, but she came into view. Her long, dark hair was curled and was shorter than the last time they saw her, but it wasn't too noticeable. Her makeup was done, but she wasn't wearing a lot of it. She was wearing a tight white cropped halter top and a white pencil skirt that reached her knees, but hugged her curves. Over that, she had on a blush pink trench coat that hung onto her shoulders and on her feet were a pair of pointed heels.
"Hey, guys," Scarlett shyly smiled, lacing her fingers behind her back.
"Jiejie," Justin smiled, getting off the couch to hug his older sister.
"Hey, J," she chuckled, wrapping an arm around him. He squeezed her before letting go to look at her. "You look healthy, very pretty."
"Thanks...did you get into trouble," Scarlett narrowed her eyes at the boy.
"What? No! I'm just complimenting you," Justin said, looking offended and she shook her head, laughing.
"Mhmm...sit down. I have something to tell you guys," Scarlett licked her lips, motioning to the couch. Her eyes moved over all the boys and she saw Yanjun staring at her. Her eyes lingered on him for a moment and in that moment, she felt her heart break.
"You said she was coming home tomorrow," Chengcheng pushed Justin when he plopped down on the couch.
"I-I thought she was! I swear I heard her say Sunday!"
"I said Saturday, but it's fine. It's not like you guys were going to throw me a welcome home party," Scarlett chuckled, tucking some hair behind her ear.
"Did you want to sit down? Those heels look like they hurt," Linkai commented, pointing to her feet.
"Uh...I'm good where I am," she smiled. "I'll only be here for a while. My assistant went to do something and will be back to pick me up soon so there's no need."
"You sure," Ziyi eyed her. She was acting weird.
"C'mon, Scar. It can't hurt to-" Zhangjing said, getting up off the couch to bring her over, but Scarlett waved her hands in front of her to stop him. Zhangjing immediately sat back down, seeing how she really didn't want to sit.
Yanjun was about to open his mouth to speak, but they heard the front door open.
We should really lock that, Zhengting thought as he and the other boys, except Nongnong, tried to look to see who it was. Nongnong stared at Scarlett, his mouth was in a straight line, pressed together like his mouth was super glue until he spoke.
"Jiejie...why is there a ring on your finger?"
The boys froze, their eyes slowly moving onto Scarlett who now hand her fingers laced together. When they looked at her hands they saw a diamond ring on her ring finger.
