third person pov"Scarlett, are you sure this is okay with Mr. Qui? I mean he's kind of-"
"Scary? I know, he gets that a lot, but he's just an old fart. He'll be fine," Scarlett waved Amanda off with her hand the nail artist wasn't working on. Scarlett found she got along well with her new assistant after they had a talk at her office.
Scarlett found out that Amanda had moved from New York to work for Scarlett. It was the first time that she had been away from home and Scar could relate to her in that way. Amanda was an only child, but was very close with her parents. She graduated high school early and took advanced courses to allow herself to graduate college early too. She was a hard worker, but Scarlett already knew that.
"You have such pretty hands. Mine are so stubby," Scarlett commented, looking over at Amanda's nails that were getting done.
"I think your hands are cute," Amanda smiled over at her boss' tiny baby hands. Scarlett wanted to hide them, but that would only mess up her nails since the lady was finishing her last finger.
Scarlett didn't get her nails done often because she didn't like writing with them, but she wanted to take Amanda somewhere. She thought it would be fun to get their nails done so that's what she decided to do with her assistant.
Scarlett decided to get some nude ballerina acrylic nails. They weren't too long, but they weren't short either. She wanted her fingers to look long and slender.
Amanda's nails finished first and she sat to the side waiting for Scarlett's to finish. The two girls were talking like best friends about what they wanted for lunch until Scarlett's phone started to ring.
"Do you like them," Scarlett's nail artist asked as Amanda fished Scarlett's phone out of her purse. She answered the phone as Scarlett talked to the lady and went to pay of their nails.
Amanda's face went pale due to the person on the line and she quickly gathered their things. Amanda hung up the phone and threw it into Scarlett's bag. She met Scarlett at the front and just in time, she had finished paying.
"We need to go," Amanda quickly spoke, grabbing onto Scarlett's wrist and pulling her out of the nail salon.
"You're that hungry or do you need to go to the women's room," Scarlett chuckled being dragged along.
"We need to hurry and get to the house," Amanda quickly responded as they got to the car and she let go of her. She quickly got into the drivers seat and Scarlett followed, getting into the passenger.
"Why? What's wrong," Scarlett asked putting her seatbelt on. Amanda's quick movements made Scarlett panic.
"We need to pack a bag and get on a plane to China," Amanda informed glancing at Scarlett. Scar didn't like the look in her eyes and she felt the color from her face drain. "Something's happened to your father."

When they landed, Scarlett was taken straight to the hospital. Amanda had to deal with a place to stay, but Scarlett was okay with going alone since Amanda was still unaware of her being passed the company.
"Xiulan," Mrs. Huang called when she saw her daughter frantically looking around for her father's hospital room. Upon seeing her mother, Scarlett ran over and pulled her mother into her arms. The woman was sobbing and crying into her daughters shoulder. Her body shaking with sadness and heartbreak. "He was fine. He was fine and then...and then-"
"I know, Mom. I know," Scarlett whispered, rubbing her mother's back trying to comfort her. "Did you call Minghao? Is he here?"
Mrs. Huang pulled away, shaking her head from left to right. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she spoke, "No. Your father told Yihui if something like this happened we were not to inform Minghao or anyone outside of the family unless absolutely necessary."
Scarlett's eyebrows furrowed.
"What? He's in a coma," she stated running a hand through her hair. "How is that not necessary? Anything could happen to-"
"It was your father's request, Xiulan," Mr. Qui showed up behind them. "We can not let it get out that your father is in a coma."
"This is ridiculous. Justin should know wh-"
"He can't. At least not yet," Mr. Qui cut her off before motioning her to follow him. Scarlett bit the inside of her mouth, but turned to her mother. She placed a kiss on her cheek before following the man.
"It's not fair."
"Nothing ever is," Mr. Qui claims before looking over to her. "The date has been moved...you'll be taking the company by the beginning of next year."
"Th-That's five months," Scarlett stuttered, eyes flashing to him. "I'm not ready. I need to finish school. I need to-"
"I know, but with your father like this we don't have much of a choice."
"What are we going to do then," Scarlett muttered kind of to herself, but Mr. Qui spoke up.
"I have an idea, but I don't think you'll like it."
