"Hey."

Yanjun looked over his shoulder to see a familiar someone. His blue eyes watching him and a small, kind hesitant smile.

"Luke," Yanjun was surprised, but also confused as to why the boy was there. He pushed off his car since the house was being searched for any clue as to what happened to Scarlett. "What...What are you doing here?"

The American boy shoved his hands in his pockets and stopped in front of him. A wave of hesitance danced in his electric eyes, "my uh...my dad was the detective that had Xiulan's case last time this happened..."

Yanjun knew that Luke's father was a detective in California, but he didn't know this of course. He never knew what happened to Scarlett. She never told him and as angry, confused, scared, and hurt as he was, he knew it would be hard for her to talk about and he should've asked her. He should've found out himself.

"Why didn't you-"

"I wasn't allowed to," Luke licked his lips while meeting Yanjun's warm eyes. "We weren't allowed to."

He nodded. It was all he really could do.

"Maybe you should tell me everything now then," Yanjun said without an ounce of hesitation. "Help me understand."

He deserved that much. He needed to know what happened to Scarlett. He needed to know from someone who knew all the details and Luke was the one who should know.

Luke silently looked Yanjun over before looking around them. The house being throughly investigated and his father talking to anyone who knew anything.

"Carson has always been a little weird in the head. He always wanted to be the best and get the best things. He was always so competitive, he always wanted to win," Luke admitted as he looked back to Yanjun who silently listened. "But there's always someone better."

"Benjamin," Yanjun asked, but it was more like he was staring it and Luke nodded his head then raised an eyebrow.

"How do you-"

"Off topic."

"Oh. Okay," the blonde nodded. "Ben and Carson were close friends since they used to be neighbors. As they got older Ben seemed to have good luck while Carson watched from the side lines. I guess he felt lower than Benjamin, but when Xiulan came he was all happy again. It was like since he had her, they were equal again."

"That doesn't make sense." Luke nodded his head in agreement, but kept on.

"Things weren't that bad then. We met Xiulan during one of our band practices and he asked her to join. She declined at first, but Dongmin and Rui changed her mind. Everything was good until our first actual performance. She met Benjamin that night," Yanjun but the inside of his cheek, remembering the video. "There was a spark between them the moment they met and Carson saw his 'best friend' label disappearing."
