"Why're you acting all weird again? I mean, it's a different weird, but you're just being really weird," Scarlett told Yanjun when they were walking in the mall.

Scarlett had to pick something up and she also wanted to do a little shopping since she hadn't had much time to do some.

"What do you mean," Yanjun asked and she narrowed his eyes at him. He didn't want to be at the mall with the possibility of running into Yunyu, but leaving the place wasn't an option.

"Yanjun," Scarlett stopped and turned to him. Her arms were crossed over her chest and Yanjun was just a step ahead of her. He turned on his heels and shoved his hands into his pockets with a raised eyebrow. "If you have something to say, just say it already because I don't like how you're acting. Not only is it unsettling, but you're making me anxious."

"For the twentieth time today, it's nothing. I'm fine," Yanjun replied and turned before walking again. "I'm just -Crimson, what are you doing?"

"I don't like the way you're acting. I know you're hiding something and I don't like it," she replied as he walked back to her. He reached to grab her hand, but she dodged him.

"Baby, I just...I'm -"

"Lying? Hiding something," Scarlett cut him off. She knew she was being a hypocrite, but this was different. Yanjun was acting too different and he was being sneaky. She told him she trusted him, but her trust was wavering now.

"Crimson, I'm fine. I'm just tired," he spoke, taking a step towards her, but she shook her head and took one back.

Her eyes searched his and his eyes flickered away from hers unconsciously and she knew he was lying. She licked her lips nodding her head before her mouth opened, "I don't know what's going on with you, but when you decide to tell me that's when I'll talk to you. Go home. I'll call Amanda and tell her to pick me up."

Scarlett turned to walk away and Yanjun tried to grab her wrist. Keyword: Tried.

"Thanks for the ride, Mandy. I'll see you," Scarlett smiled before getting out of the car. She noticed Yanjun's car wasn't there, but saw the others were home. She was a little worried, but she knew Yanjun liked to be alone when he was upset.

"I'm home," Scarlett called when she got the door open. She had her little shopping bags in her hand and closed the door behind her.

"Jiejie, you got mail," Nongnong said from the living room. When she came over, she saw the younger ones of the group sitting around. Chengcheng was watching a cooking show, Linkai and Justin were on their phones while Xudan and Nongnong were cuddling while watching animal videos.

"The others are upstairs and Yanjun went to pick something up," Justin announced, not looking up from his phone.

"Okay," Scarlett uttered as Nongnong waved a single envelope in the air with his long arm. She reached over and he handed it to her, meeting her eyes momentarily and giving her a smile. "Thank you, mailboy nongs."

"You're welcome, jiejie."

"By the way," Scarlett said separating a small bag from her others. Xudan looked and sat up from her spot while the others looked over. Scarlett held the bag out to the other girl with a smile, "I got this for you. I ordered it a while ago, but it just came in."

"This is too-"

"It's okay. I have rich parents, remember," Scarlett chuckled, handing the girl the bag that came from a jewelry store.

"Thank you, jiejie," Xudan blushed and Scarlett smiled. "I'll buy you something too."

"No, no. Just wear all the time, okay? That's enough for me. I need to shower, but show me later so I can see it on you," Scarlett chuckled before turning to leave.

Scarlett slipped up the stairs with her bags and the envelope in her hand. She locked her bedroom door and threw her new things on the bed before plopped down on the edge.

Scarlett licked her lips that suddenly felt so dry, in one swift motion she ripped open the envelope. The content of it fell into her lap and her eyebrows furrowed when she saw something rectangular.

She picked it up and saw some writing on the sides that were white while the middle was black.

He can't love you like I love you, Xiulan. His heart isn't really yours.

Scarlett turned the paper and realize it was one of those polaroids. She didn't like the picture.

Yanjun got home after taking a drive around the area. He needed time to breathe and calm down. He had made it so obvious that something was wrong and freaked out because he didn't want Scarlett to find out about Yunyu.

When the door pulled open, Scarlett was sitting on the stairs. Her legs kicked out in front of her as she leaned her back against the wall. Her feet didn't even touch the railing.

"Hey," Yanjun closed the door behind him. Scarlett looked at him and looked away just as fast, she got up off the stairs.

"We...We should talk upstairs," Scarlett spoke and turned doing what she said and he followed. When they got to their room Scarlett closed their door and leaned against it.

Yanjun looked at the couple bags on their bed before taking a seat on the edge. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and threw it to the side then got a little more comfortable.

"Yanjun," Scarlett spoke slowly and he stopped to look at her. She met his eyes momentarily before flashing away, it's not that bad, she thought to herself.

"Crimson," he spoke in the same tone. He wasn't really sure what was going on. She looked happy and he thought the time away would fix what happened earlier, but it seemed to not work at all.

"Do you want to tell me why you were acting weird," she asked still not meeting his eyes. Hers were glued to the wall while he was watching her.

Her back was pressed against the door and her hand was on the knob of the door. She looked like she wanted to leave.

"No...I told you I'm just tired."

Scarlett nodded her head slowly. He wasn't going to be honest with her and her trust for him lessened.

Yanjun saw as a light in her eyes dimmed and they slowly moved to him, "I know what happened with you and Yunyu."

Yanjun suddenly didn't know what to do.

"Crimson, I didn't-"

"Kiss her," she asked and he nodded his head. He stood to his feet and moved to stand in front of her. She watched him, but when he looked into her eyes she looked away. "I know, but it hurts more that you didn't tell me. I told you I trusted you and you could've just told me."

Yanjun sighed in relief and also out of frustration towards himself. She was right. He should've told her even if he could've lost her because he would've lost her anyways. He placed his fingers under her chin and made her look up at him. She didn't cry, but it was obvious she was really upset about the whole thing.

As much as Scarlett wanted to be mad at him, she knew that fighting then wouldn't be a good idea. She didn't have time to be angry at him when she knew what and who was coming for her.
