"Jiejie," Justin jumped back from the girl who had her back against the wall and her eyes widened, looking at Scarlett. His hands dropped to his sides and the girl bit her swollen lips. Scarlett's eyes moved over the two of them taking quick notice of how the girl's shirt was partially up, showing skin.
"Chengxiao, what the fuck do you think you're doing with my sixteen year old brother," Scarlett growled, fist clenching beside her. Suddenly, all she could see was red. "He's in high school."
"Jiejie, calm down. It isn't what you think. We-we were just-"
Scarlett slammed her fist into the wall beside her, creating a hole a little bigger then the size of her fist. Justin and Chengxiao shook in their spots, Scarlett pulled her hand from the wall, she didn't even look hurt. All that was written on her face was pure anger.
"What was that," someone in the distance asked before footstep sounded, heading up the staircase.
"Think? I saw, Minghao. I saw you making out with her and I saw you touching her. I-"
"Jiejie, please. Just calm down, okay? There's no need to-"
"What's going on here," Zhengting asked standing with the others on the top step. Their eyes moved from Justin and Chengxiao, seeing their closeness, their eyes widened in shock then their eyes moved to Scarlett who had her eyes on the two opposite of her.
It was like there was fire surrounding her, red outlining her body. Their eyes flickered to the hole in the wall and down to Scarlett's fist that was clenched beside her, some white specks and dust covering.
"Holy shit," Ziyi muttered in shock.
"Jiejie-"
"I want you out of this house right now before I punch more than the wall," Scarlett cut Justin off looking at the girl.
"Y-Yes, ma'am," Chengxiao said quickly moving without looking at Justin. The boys made a path for her as she left and held their breaths.
Scarlett's hands clenched, she couldn't think. She couldn't believe she caught Justin the way she did. It made her sick to her stomach. She let out a shaky sigh before looking to him.
"And you. I-I don't even know what the hell to say to you," she said as Justin looked embarrassed and angry.
"You're overreacting," Justin suddenly said. No one breathed. "I can be with who I want. Just like you can."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean," Scarlett stood her ground.
"You're dating Yanjun, aren't you? I told you I didn't want you together, but you're with him. I asked for one thing and that was to date none of my friends, but you did."
"This is different, Minghao. You're sixteen and she's twenty fucking years old. You're a fucking child stop acting like you're a grown ass man."
"Guys," Xukun said, carefully, but they both ignored him.
"You're a hypocrite. You act like you've never dated someone with the same age gap," Justin spat, matching her anger.
"What are you talking about," she glared.
"I know you dated Carson Graves. The guy from your band, the one who left. Remember him, he was four years older than you? I know that's why you didn't talk to me for those two years. You were so in love with him and only ever wanted to be with him so you didn't talk to me, Mom, or Dad and you ran away with him like a kid," Justin said spitting venom. "At least I didn't run away like you did."
A lump formed in Scarlett's throat. Carson. He never liked when she call him by that name, for a second she forgot that was his name. He wanted her to call him Hunter, the name he was given by his real parents. The name that was burned into her back.
"You don't know anything about him or anything that happened with us," Scarlett looked at him, her fire being tamed.
She knew that one day Justin would confront her, but not like this. Not bringing up her worst nightmare in front of everyone.
"Then what, Xiulan because everyone was always worried about you, but you ran off. You left us all," he yelled, angrily, but tears were clouding his vision. "You left me!"
"It wasn't like that," Scarlett said suddenly feeling a pain in her chest.
"Yes it was. I-I tried to call you. I tried calling you everyday because I thought...I thought something happened to you, but Mom and Dad said you just ran away with him. That's what they told me so yes it was."
Scarlett released a shaky breath, imagining her brother pacing back and forth in his room. His phone sitting in his hand waiting for her to answer.
"I'm sorry," she said and meant it even though the story hadn't been true. Her eyes flickered to Minghao who had wet cheeks, but eyes that stared daggers into her.
"It's a little too late for that."
