"It was a dead end. They found a necklace with a pile of papers," Detective Davies reported walking back into the room. Yanjun silently sat, a hand pulling at his roots while he bit the inside of his mouth.
Justin and the others went to visit Mr. Huang and Linkai. Yanjun wanted to go, but the other insisted he's stay in case they found Scarlett or something that led to Scarlett.
"Here," Luke handed Yanjun a glass of water as he sat down next to him then reminded him. "Xiulan is strong. She needs you to be strong too. We'll find her."
Yanjun took the glass and lifted it to his mouth. He knew Scarlett was strong, but it didn't make him feel better even if it was supposed to. He just wanted her to be safe in his arms laughing about anything. He didn't care if she was laughing at him, he just needed her with him.
"I just-"
The tv turned on and it went fuzzy at first, but cleared not a second later.

Scarlett swayed in the van as her captors sat in the front seat and a new guy and girl sat on either side of her. The guy sat to her left and had green eyes with some short brown hair. The girl had blue eyes and her black hair that fell to maybe the middle of her back.
"Aren't you going to ask where we're going, Xiulan," Kailer asked, turning in his seat to look at her as his other new friend drove.
She rolled her eyes, but winced with the car hit a bump causing her to slightly lift off the seat and drop back onto it. Kailer has never hit her back when she was with him, Alec, and Carson, but he made sure to back at that warehouse. He "needed" to cripple her so she couldn't get away. In conclusion, he had given her bruises and possibly broke a rib or two, but it wasn't the worst that she'd gone through.
"Oh wait. You can't say anything, can you?"
Scarlett closed her eyes, her jaw clenching although he had gagged her. It was stupid, he should've blindfolded her, but what could she say? Kailer didn't even graduate high school or get a GED.
"Kailer, you sound like a dumbass villain who gets caught. Just shut the fuck up," the driver glanced into the rear view mirror at Scarlett. Their eyes met and she felt something off about him. She didn't exactly know what, but something just didn't feel right about him from the way he kept eyeing her.
"Daniel, keep your eyes to the road and mind your own-" The car suddenly stopped and thank God for Scarlett's seat belt cause she could flew right out the windshield. Kailer, however, slammed his head on the dash and groaned. "What the fuck, man."
"I'm only in this for the money, Kailer. If you don't shut your fucking trap I'll find a better way to get money," the guy stared daggers into the other. Kailer's cocky facade disappear for a quick second as he searched the driver's eyes for any kind of waver, but found none.
"Fine."
The two people on either side of Scarlett sent each other looks as the driver began doing his job and started the car back up.
A phone rang and Scarlett watched as Kailer opened the glove compartment to pull out a silver iPhone. She wasn't able to see the screen because he had a private screen protector. She watched as he slid his finger then put the phone to his ear.
