"Have you...talked to your sister," Yanjun awkwardly asked Justin who plopped onto the couch after bidding Anesthesia, his crush, goodbye. She had come over often now since they always had math tests and quizzes. Justin needed help and he took his sister's advice, asking the girl for help. He was happy he did too because it seemed to be working, both his grades were doing good and his possible relationship with the girl.

"Yeah," Justin muttered, staring at the television. "She um...she hasn't said anything about you. I brought you up a couple times, but she dodges it."

"Oh...okay," Yanjun nodded, going back to the tv. It had been a month since they last saw the girl. Yanjun had broken up with Jieqiong after Scarlett left and things have just been quiet since. Yanjun tried texting Scarlett multiple times, but it seemed she dropped of the face of his world.

He couldn't really blame her. He knew that being with the other girl had hurt her and that he was being selfish. The look on her face when she saw Jieqiong in his shirt broke her heart. Her eyes were dull and she looked sickly. Jieqiong was able to see that too and she had loved the sight, but grew angry when Yanjun broke up with her.

It didn't matter to him though. The only person who mattered was Scarlett, but he had broke her heart.

"When is she coming back," Yanjun wiped his sweaty palms on his pants. His eyes darting to the youngest one in the house.

"Sunday."

Scarlett laid in her bed, staring at the ceiling. She had done that all day, locking herself up in her bedroom trying to think about how she was going to handle the next couple days.

She had a lot on her mind and one thing was Yanjun.

Although she didn't like seeing Jieqiong wearing his shirt, that's not what had bothered her. If anything, at that moment she had been happy he had her, but after finding they broke up she suddenly felt pain for him.

When she saw him, she wanted to kiss him so badly. She wanted to hold onto him and tell him how much she loved him, but knew she could never tell him just how much she felt for him. She wanted to make him smile, laugh, and feel the love she had for him. She wanted to give him the world, but there was no time and it wasn't the right time.

That time had passed a long time ago and she regretted it. She regretted not telling him how much he meant to her because now whatever they had would have to disappear.

He could no longer be the person for her. He would be a side character in Scarlett's sad story. The boy who she had loved so much, but wouldn't end up with.

He was the character that the readers would cry over and yell at the author for not giving them a happy ending. The character that made the audience throw their books at the wall and yell at the world for their depressing life.

Scarlett sat up in her bed, glancing at the window. She watched as the trees swayed and the moon looked down at her from the dark sky. She saw the stars twinkling down and wanted to be closer.

Beside her, Scarlett's phone vibrated. She hesitated, but looked at the screen to see who had been calling her.

Yanjun, the screen had read.

Scarlett's heart strings tugged in her chest. He had texted her the past month, she had never replied. She didn't even open them up to read them. She knew if she did, she wouldn't be able to control herself.

Yanjun was her weakness. He was her kryptonite, but he was also what made her strong. He had become a reason for her to love life even if it wasn't going her way.

Scarlett stared at his name wanting it to fall from her lips, answering the call, but she pinched her lips together and placed the phone back down in the sheets beside her. She sunk back into her bed, pulling the covers over her body.

She then closed her eyes to fall into her nightmares.
