"ARGH!" Your father screamed as he threw your family photo down to the ground, shattering it into pieces.

He let his anger consume him and transform him into an unloving, horrible monster, but he wasn't angry in the first place.

He was confused.

The sight of you and Jungkook being intimate was like a train that smashed his body into smithereens, leaving bits of him here and there like his thoughts. Some remained with him, reflecting on how he foolishly threw his wife and children away, while the others drifted to them and how they were doing, hoping that they found shelter in a safe place nearby.

It had been quite some time since his family had stayed in Incheon, and he was so badly hoping that one day, they would run into his arms and forgive him for being such a terrible father.

But of course, that would only happen in fantasy land.

His bloody hands shivered as they reached for his phone, fingers trembling even more when they found your names under his contact list.

When the sound of ringing filled the lonely atmosphere, tears streamed down his cheeks as he waited in anticipation for an answer, hoping to hear your voices at least once.

You were giggling, enjoying your time being freed from the shackles of hiding, and you were even more pleased to find out that your mother had been warming up to Jihye a lot more and developing a sisterly bond between each other.

Everyone was growing closer, and you could get used to this new family.

"Hold on, I'm getting a call," you excuse yourself from the rest of the group during your game of Monopoly.

Rushing upstairs, your heart stops momentarily when you catch a glimpse of the caller ID. Appa.

What could he possibly want from you now? You were just starting to like living without him, and he had to call now?

"H-Hello?"

"Y/N sweetheart?"

They way he sweetly called your name sent tears down your face, not because you missed him and his fatherly affection, but because you were confused and torn between giving into his desperation, which meant forgiving him, and telling him off, asking him bluntly why he decided to care about your safety three weeks after he kicked everybody out.

"N-No, A-Appa," you choke on the thick lump forming in your throat.

"Are you somewhere safe? Do you have food? Water?"

You nod, not remembering that you weren't video calling and he couldn't see you. All he could hear were your muffled cries through the phone.

"We're fine," you sob before cutting the phone.

"Y/N, there you a—what happened?" Jungkook enters the room, eyes widening when he sees you sitting on the floor and crying.

He joins you and leans up against the bottom of your bed, lips gently touching many areas of your faces as he wraps his arms around you.

Seeing that you continued to sob, he kissed your eyes and temple while drawing various shapes on your back to calm you down.

"Baby, you don't have to tell me anything," he says.

"A-Appa called," you reply, ignoring his words.

Jungkook's body stiffened against yours, but the following placement of your hands on his beating heart loosened him up a little.

"He a-asked if w-we were safe."

"You didn't block his number yet?"

He felt you shake your head, so Jungkook rests it on his shoulder, pressing your nose into the side of his neck.

"It's okay. I'll do it now," he kisses your forehead and takes your phone, blocking your dad's number and throwing it on the bed before fully hugging you.

"Do you want to continue the game downstairs?"

You nod, smiling against him while wiping your last few tears.

"Let's go."
