Jungkook had no time to properly close the box, so he just placed the lid on top before jumping through the hole with the paper hidden under his white T-shirt. As he slid the white panel to patch up the ceiling, the sounds of footsteps became louder as the neared him.
Bending down to pick up the pile of books that was now spread across the floor, your mother walked in front of him, sending him an icy glare. "Care to explain why you left the hospital early?"
"I-I had homework to d-do, and I f-forgot my t-textbooks, so I c-came back t-to get them."
"Your sister is more important than your grade, Jungkook-ah," she groaned.
"I'm sorry, Eomma. I'll go back now."
"There's no point now. We're not allowed to visit during a medical procedure."
With that, she trotted away and went about her business. Jungkook hurried to place the books back to their original places before he slumped on his bed, sighing in relief at how he narrowly escaped that tense situation earlier.
That was the first time he called your mother "Eomma" after his recent discovery, and it kind of pained him a little bit.
Wiping his sweaty forehead with his shirt, he peeled off the stiff paper that stuck to his abdomen which was also sweaty.
He was left aghast as he took in the information that was permanently printed in front of him.

As Jungkook reached the signatures at the bottom of the page, his heart thumped vigorously as his fists clenched the edge of the paper. The nightmares he was having were trying to tell him something this whole time, but he was too blind to see it. The information was served to him on a silver platter from day one, but he showed it away.
"Argh!" He ruffled his hair, yanking at a few strands before punching his chest repeatedly.
All these years he grew up in this house, it was all a blur to him now. All the memories he made with you as a little kid, he wished that he could've gotten to know you as a different person rather than as your sibling. He couldn't even remember coming out of his mother's womb and being cradled gently like he saw with you. He never even got to know who his real parents were. It felt as if he'd been snatched from reality and placed in some sort of role-play land under the mercy of another human being.
As his breathing became heavier and heavier, one thing was certain.
He wasn't going to be getting any sleep at all.
