3. Fiore High School

Erza's POV:

     A strawberry blonde haired man looked at me. His eyes clearly showed confusion and then the dawn of realisation hit him.

     He said to me, "Ah! You must be Erza Scarlet! Come in."

     I walked inside trying to avoid the eyes staring at me. He told the class, "This is Erza Scarlet, a transfer student." I gave the class a weak smile. He looked at me with kind eyes and asked me to find a seat.

     For the first time my eyes wandered over the students. I saw familiar blonde hair at the end and had to look twice to confirm that it was Lucy. She waved her hand and pointed towards a seat beside hers which was empty.

     I walked through the rows of students staring at me with curious looks. It seemed as if I was walking for hours. When I reached the seat I quickly sat down and looked up at our teacher.

    "So, I am Gildarts Clive as many of you already know. I am going to be your class teacher for this year. Now all of you, introduce yourselves to the class." Mr. Gildarts said.

Late Afternoon

Erza's POV:

     The bell rang, marking my first day at the school officially over. I grabbed my bag and walked out of the classroom with the other students.

     I started searching for Lucy as the students crowded the corridors. I was swept with the crowd out of the school building. I searched for Lucy on the school grounds. I saw her with the blue haired girl from morning.

     They were standing under a tree searching for someone. I walked up to them and said, "Hi Lucy!"

     She turned her head towards me and said, "Hi Erza! We were looking for you!" The blue haired girl besides her said, "Juvia is Juvia. Nice to meet you, Erza." smiling at me. I replied, smiling back, "Nice to meet you too, Juvia."

     Lucy gave us a smile and said cheerfully, "Now that you two know each other, Erza, let's introduce you to another friend."

     "Okay. Where is she?" I asked.
"She will be in the town library. Let's go there!" Lucy said.

     We started to walk towards the library. Once inside, Lucy trotted over to the librarian and asked her the whereabouts of this friend. She then gestured me and Juvia to follow her and we went along with her deep into the library.

     Lucy suddenly stopped and called out in a low voice, "Levy, we are here to introduce you to a new friend." Lucy moved and a tiny girl sitting on a chair with glasses and a large book in her hands was revealed.

     She looked at me and said with a smile, "Hello! I am Levy. Nice to meet you!" I replied, "I am Erza, nice to meet you too."

     Levy's light blue locks were restrained by a cute orange band, which matched her clothes. She then turned to Lucy, "Lu-chan, why don't we all go out together on weekend?"

     "We should! It will be so much fun!!" Lucy said.

     "But Juvia was planning to make a cake for Gray-sama.." Juvia mumbled.

     "Who is Gray-sama?" I asked out of curiosity. Lucy and Levy started to giggle and I could see Juvia's face turn red.

     "Gray is Juvia's crush. He is at Fiore High School too. We will introduce everyone to you in no time." Lucy said, still giggling.

     I gave them a curt nod and asked,"So, are we going out this weekend then?"

     "Yes, we are. Juvia you can make the cake before weekend. Gray will be happy to accept a cake from you anytime."

     Juvia blushed even deeper. I suddenly felt awkward and sorry for bringing up this topic. Juvia spoke in a small voice, "Juvia thinks she should go home now, it's getting late."

     Lucy replied,"Don't feel bad Juvia, we were just kidding..." Juvia, still red in the face, said,"Juvia knows.. but it's really getting late. Juvia has to go home."

     Lucy sighed,"Okay then.. By the way, I don't think you know, Erza and you are neighbours... So you should go together."

     "Wha- Juvia and I are neighbours?" I asked. "I didn't realise that..." Juvia looked at me and said," It seems we are.. Shall we go together then?"

     "O-Okay." I said. We said goodbye to Levy and Lucy and started walking home. We walked along the cobbled footpaths and roads. Green, tiny grass was poking out through the gaps between two stones, giving them a medevial look.

     The both of us were silent all along and only spoke when we reached our homes. "This is where Juvia lives..", Juvia said, pointing to the house next to mine. "Juvia used to think this is a deserted house... So it kinda scared Juvia when Juvia saw lights in the house.." she nervously laughed.

     I have her a smile and said, "Yeah, that does sound creepy..." Juvia nodded ,"Bye Erza, see you tomorrow."

     "Bye." I replied and walked into my house. I put my bag on the sofa and went in the kitchen. I had something to eat and went into the living room. I sat on the sofa, resting my feet on the table in front of it.

     I took a book and started to read it. After a while I fell asleep without realising.

Early Morning

Erza's POV:

     I woke up and found myself on the sofa. It was dark and I couldn't see much. The book I was reading was lying on the floor. I picked it up and placed it in the table.

     I walked to my room and changed into my pyjamas. Then I plopped onto the bed, taking the covers upto my neck. It felt very warm and cozy. But I couldn't fall asleep. I tossed and turned for probably two or three hours till my alarm rang.

     I got out of the bed, completed my daily morning routine. I went into the kitchen and had eggs and toast for breakfast. After breakfast, I grabbed my bag and left for school.

     I was only two blocks away when I heard a shout behind me. "Erza!! Wait up!" I turned around and saw Juvia running towards me frantically waving her hands in the air.

     Once she noticed she had my attention, she slowed down. She caught up with me and we started walking to school together.
