"God damn it, Connor! I've told you to stay behind me about ten times,"

Hank's voice just bounced off Connor once the android ignored him. His LED flashed yellow once he started to examine his surroundings.

"The deviant escaped from here, Lieutenant," Connor explained as he reconstructed the scene.

The deviant had been hit by something hard enough to shatter through their projective skin and to shed thirium. That would explain the metal baseball bat on the floor.

Which also explained the struggle the machine went through as the chairs were all collapsed and the glasses on the table were on the floor and shattered.

Oddly enough, the baseball bat had no fingerprints laid on it. But even then, there were traces of human in this scene.

Not only that, but there were a few traces of actual human blood splattered around the crime scene as well. So it was certain that a human was here.

"If the person who attacked the deviant was human, then why can't we find those damn fingerprints?" Hank asked with a grumble, his arms were crossed as he said that.

"I'm not so certain of that either," Connor responded. He took a few steps away from the Lieutenant in order to review what had happened in this place. There were mostly just drops of thirium, but in some spots of the room, there were splatters of human blood.

It also appeared that no one had left the house. Nor deviant, nor human. There were no bodies, just a clear sign of a struggle and a crime that took place.

"Whoever called us in here must've wanted to waste our time..." Hank grumbled under his breath with his usual growly voice. He hadn't been in a good mood ever since Connor had forced him to move from the bar to this crime scene.

"I'm not so sure about that. They were right to report it in, since it's clear a crime took place here," Connor explained in defence. "Yet, I don't understand why there's no other traces of a human except blood."

"Who reported this scene again?" Hank asked while coming up to Connor.

"A woman, Lieutenant. She preferred not to say her name through the call." Connor reported, remembering exactly what the officer who had ordered them to come here said.

Scoffing, Hank lifted a brow. "What was that woman doing here?"

"She lives right besides this house. She said that she came in to deliver something, but ended up seeing this. That's all..." Connor trailed off. He was starting to feel skeptical. "That's all she said before ending the call."

"Huh..." Hank mumbled out. "Nothing else?"

"Nothing else," Connor concluded. Even if he had evidence in front of him, he couldn't reconstruct a possible scenario. The evidence was all over the place and almost nothing correlated with each other.

Sure, it was certain that the android was hit with a baseball bat. Whoever hit it must've been human, unless another android was involved. But then where did the human come from? Was the woman who called in the crime hurt? Where was the body? The corpse?

"Connor," Hank's voice interrupted Connor's thought process.

"Yes, Lieutenant?" Connor faced him, hoping that the man had found something else to add in the evidence.

"I'm going to ask about the person who called in the scene. We'll have to find out who she is just in case she's been involved in all this shit," Hank grumbled with an annoyed tone. His blue eyes scanned the scene again. "Maybe she's not but just to be sure, we better take her in for questioning."
