[another long chapter! This one is about 6800 words. I'm sorry if you dislike the long chapters, but I'm trying to write as much as possible to further progress the story and also be able to update more frequently before I get busy! Anyhow, enjoy the chapter!]
"So...how exactly do you plan to get to Jericho? Do you know where to even go?"
When Y/N asked that to Kara, the android hesitated for a second. But eventually, she got a reply.
"Rose gave me instructions on how to get to Jericho, she told me it's a freight and that once we get there, Markus will help us," Kara explained. Y/N listened attentively and her interest sparked more once she heard about Markus.
"Okay...so how did you plan to get there?"
"Rose was supposed to help drive us close to Jericho and once we passed the border, she would be there to pick us up," Kara explained. Her eyes then dimmed and she continued, "she can't drive us there, but she did mention that we will see her next to the border and she'll take us to Canada safely."
"What happened to Rose? Why couldn't she drive you there?" Y/N asked her.
"We weren't aware that we had caught the suspicions of the police on our way to Rose, so when we arrived and stayed for a while, Rose was informed that the police was coming," Kara explained fearfully. "Unfortunately, this meant that we could only stay for a bit and we had to leave soon after, even though Rose wasn't comfortable with us leaving, we figured it would be for the best."
"She told us that she had seen someone living a bit farther away and told us that if we go there we might have shelter and warmth," Kara continued. Her eyes then looked directly into Y/N's. "I don't know if she truly knew about you or not."
"I haven't told anyone where I live," Y/N explained, honestly, quite surprised. She had always thought she had disappeared off the radar. Or that—CyberLife had dealt with doing that themselves.
"We were a bit concerned, after Zlatko—we couldn't quite trust anyone as much as we trusted Rose, but we had to try," Kara shared. "At that point we were desperate..."
"We don't know if the other androids were found or not but Rose told us that she'd meet us by the border and that she'll ensure we get to Canada safely," she continued.
"So," Y/N started, before letting out a breath and nodding in understanding. "You need someone to get you to Jericho and you know where to go from there?"
"Yes," Kara nodded. "We just need to get to Jericho."
"I can get you there and accompany you to make sure you get there safely," Y/N didn't miss a beat on telling her that. And she meant it. "You can give me the directions and I'll gladly get you to Jericho."
Y/N was oddly excited to see Jericho and see how far the deviants had gotten. If she could get a glimpse of Markus and see how much he had made a difference—that would be amazing. If she could offer her help, that would be even better.
Kara bit her lip to show her uncertainty, before quietly saying, "I don't know if it'll be a good idea bringing a former CyberLife employee and the deviant hunter himself to a spot where deviants feel the safest."
Ah, she's kind of right, Y/N thought about it. She smiled nervously and then with embarrassment she placed her hand on her forehead slowly, instead of going full-on facepalm, "Ah, how could I forget—maybe I got a bit too excited."
Kara seemed to be amused by this, because her lips curled into a soft, barely visible smile.
"If I cant get you there, then how should this go?" Y/N asked her solemnly.
