(I decided to write a bit more! Hopefully the lengths of the chapters are okay!)
Y/N hummed to the beat of the song she was listening to on her headphones. She twirled the pen she had between her fingers and looked down at what she had written. It was all the essentials she needed for the sensors, in order to improve them. Maybe if she could get it to only one sensor, it would be great.
Y/N also noticed that she seemed...happier than usual. Well she couldn't really tell if she was happier, or just well rested. Maybe both.
Y/N's eyes trailed toward where Connor was sitting. Since the door to her studio was open, she could see him do whatever.
He was on the couch, reading the book Y/N had said was her favourite. Connor seemed to have slowed down his reading, since he didn't flip the page as quickly as before.
Y/N smiled. He's so cute, looking all concentrated.
Connor didn't notice her staring at him, so he continued reading silently. Y/N's smile grew a bit bigger, she twirled her pen a bit more as she watched him. Although he wasn't in the same room as her, she found his presence to be comforting.
Almost like before. Where she would work on codes for his software and his mere presence comforted her.
And how before he would come and sit nearby, watch what Y/N was doing with curious and observant dark eyes and stay in comfortable silence.
If he could just come a little closer.
Like before...That would be enough for Y/N.
I should stop. There's no point in thinking about the past right now, Y/N sighed and then turned to her notes again.
Yet, her eyes were moved towards Connor again. Almost like if he was a magnet, attracting Y/N's eyes almost every time.
However, Connor looked to be distracted. Not fully invested in the book.
Y/N's smile slowly vanished as she noticed that. Was something bothering him? What could it be?
Maybe I should go and check. Besides, I haven't spoken to him in a while, Y/N scratched her cheek. I've been busy with work and he didn't come when I suggested him to join me, so...I guess I'll just go up there and talk to him.
Sighing, Y/N took off her headphones and placed them on the desk. She looked at Connor, making sure he was still there.
She inhaled through her nose and exhaled. A smile adorned her lips and she approached Connor.
He hadn't heard or seen her, so he kept his eyes on the book and flipped a page. With narrowed eyes, he continued reading, not paying attention to Y/N approaching him.
"Hello, Y/N," Connor greeted her, just before she could even get to him.
Y/N blinked, a bit surprised at first, but then amused. She should've expected him to know she was coming his way.
Chuckling, Y/N leaned in closer to Connor. "How are you doing?" Y/N asked him with a cheery smile.
Connor looked up at her, his dark eyes blinking a few times before he cocked his head to the side just a bit. As always, he looked adorable doing so.
"Is something wrong?" Connor asked her.
"I'm just asking how you're doing! Does it immediately mean something is wrong?" Y/N grinned with amusement as she said that.
"No," Connor blinked again, then moved his head back down and looked away. "I suppose not."
"Hm," Y/N hummed a bit and then settled down next to him. She looked over at him, smiled and then got closer.
