Connor opened his eyes, his software showed him a few signs of starting up. He had gotten used to 'falling asleep', he supposed.
Connor got up from his 'bed' and headed to the living room. He really saw no point of him having a room, he only did it because of Y/N's deal. Yet again, Y/N had left quite hastily yesterday after their interaction.
Once he reached the living room, he stopped walking once he caught Y/N in the kitchen. She was filling her cup with her [f/hot drink] and only brought her eyes up to look at him when she was done.
"Good morning," Connor plainly greeted her.
"Yeah..." Y/N blinked, "Good morning."
"Are doing the testing today?" Connor decided to ask. It was one of the questions he was sure he would get a clear answer from. It also always seemed to excite Y/N in the morning.
But, this time, he didn't get an excited reaction from her. Her face didn't light up, neither did her lips curl upwards. He didn't get the opposite either. Baffled, Connor was about to say something else but Y/N beat him to it.
"No, I don't think so. Why are you asking?" Y/N mumbled.
"I thought we would've," Connor explained. "You're usually persistent with testing the sensors."
"Not today," Y/N shrugged. She took the cup into her hands and walked over to the dining table. She settled down and stared at Connor, "I don't think we can test them today anyway."
"But they worked," Connor lifted both brows. "I was sure you would've liked to continue."
"Yes, sure, they worked," Y/N nodded dismissively. She took a sip of her drink, "But I don't want to test today."
"Alright..." Connor said. He settled down on the couch and looked at Y/N closely.
She took another sip of her drink, her [e/c] eyes closed as she did so. Connor turned his eyes away, leaving her to her privacy.
Once she placed her cup back down, Y/N turned to look at Connor.
"I've noticed that you haven't asked me any of your questions," Y/N told him gently. Connor was a bit surprised to hear her say such an unexpected statement.
Connor turned his dark eyes to look at her, "I haven't."
"Why?" Y/N asked.
"It's been a hectic week," Connor answered hastily."I guess..." Y/N muttered out. Her voice awkwardly quiet.
"Besides, I figured that it wouldn't be the best time to ask the question yesterday," Connor shared honestly. His hand involuntarily held his other one. He remembered the sensors and how they allowed him to feel. Connor's eyes even strayed and fell upon Y/N's fingertips. He remembered how they had felt.
Connor gathered his thoughts and cleared his throat, "You weren't in the best of moods."
"Of course I wasn't!" Y/N scoffed and furrowed her brows angrily. "You think I would be happy if you lied to me about a project I've been working on for so long?"
"No," Connor plainly answered.
"Exactly!" Y/N rolled her eyes. The young woman walked towards him and leaned closer to him. Her eyes were narrowed into angry slits, but she didn't look as furious as last time.
"Did you really not know why you didn't tell me though?" Y/N asked him grumpily. "It's kinda dumb if you just say 'I don't know.' You're supposed to know everything, Connor."
Connor looked at her dead in the eye. He didn't break eye-contact. Sure, he had lied to her about not feeling. But, he wasn't lying about not knowing.
