(Going through a bit of a Writer's Block, but I'll pull through lol. Sorry if this chapter is a bit meh, but I hope you enjoy anyways! Thank you guys for 51k reads on Creator!)

"Warmer?"

Y/N asked that to Connor as she wrapped a blanket around his shoulders. They were settled on the couch, in the warm living room. Quite a contrast to the freezing weather outside.

Although it was late at night and the sun wasn't visible, Y/N figures that it would show itself soon. Soon, rays of sunlight would enter the living room and wash it with even more warmth. But until now, Y/N worked with what she had.

"Yes, I'm fine," Connor told her, his voice sounded quiet. He turned to her and looked at her carefully. "Are...you warm enough? I wasn't the only one out in the cold."

"Well, I'm fine," Y/N gently told him with a smile. "The cold didn't affect me as much, I guess."

Connor looked at her for a while. His dark brown eyes scanned her features, she let him do that. Then, Y/N blinked once she saw Connor raise an arm whilst holding the blanket, so it created a sort of mini tent when he raised his arm.

"What are you doing?" Y/N asked him, her eyes were on the blanket.

Connor glanced at the blanket, then back at Y/N. Suddenly, Y/N's lips parted as she felt Connor's arm snake around her, along with the blanket and cover her back and shoulder with it. "Giving you warmth," Connor explained once he brought her closer.

Y/N held her breath as she felt her shoulder and side make contact with Connor. She looked at him, surprised, but flashed him a grateful smile. "I was fine."

"I still figured it would be best to keep you warm," Connor told her, his voice was gentle. Now Y/N noticed something. Every time he spoke, she could hear something in his tone. Anything. It felt like a newly awakened conscience and it felt as if he actually cared. She liked this and she hopes he's liking this too. But Y/N knows it'll take him a bit of time to get accustomed to feeling emotions and expressing them without doubting himself.

"Thank you," Y/N thanked him with a grateful whisper. She got just a bit closer to him and welcomed the warmth of his body with open arms.

Warming herself up, Y/N closed her eyes and let her body relax. She was still tense after what just happened and she was sure that Connor was too. Maybe somewhere deep inside her, she was scared that he'll change his mind and leave her. This time for real. What would she do then?

When that thought crossed her mind, Y/N's hands grabbed onto the blanket and pulled it closer to her, bringing Connor's arm along with it, since he was holding the blanket. She tried to let her body relax, she truly did, but she couldn't.

What if he did want to leave and this was all an act? Maybe he wasn't even sure he wanted to stay here.

If that was the case, Y/N would only have to let him go. This dwindle of hope couldn't last this long. Nothing good ever lasts this long.

"Is something wrong?" Connor's voice broke through her anxious thoughts and she opened her eyes. With a swift upwards movement of her head, she looked up at Connor.

Smiling, although weakly, Y/N nodded, "Everything's fine. I'm just...uh...still cold."

"That's not the case, is it?" Connor suddenly said and Y/N was taken a back. She blinked, a bit surprised at how upfront he was. "You're...uncertain about something."

"How did you know that?" Y/N asked him softly, generally curious but surprised.

"I don't know, maybe I can recognise that emotion of uncertainty because I'm feeling it too," Connor looked to the side. His eyes clouded with doubt. "I'm...not even sure if this is uncertainty. This is all...new to me."
