"Don't shoot, do not shoot!"
Y/N ran up to stand in front of Connor. She spread her arms to the sides in order to somewhat protect him and narrowed her eyes at the security android in front of her. Behind the android, stood a man dressed in his lab clothes.
"I'll recode him, I'll run a diagnostic, just don't shoot," Y/N told the man hurriedly. She tried to keep her tone as calm as possible. "Please...don't shoot."
"You've had forty-eight hours to review everything and all the errors. You've been wasting that time, Y/N. The android became unstable due to that. He endangered one of the co-workers because he wanted to see you, do you think that's what we're looking for in an RK800 model?" The man narrowed his eyes and stood firmly behind the security android who was still pointing a gun straight at Y/N. "Kamski will not be impressed with his apprentice."
"No, of course not! I swear I'll do better, I swear he'll be better!" Y/N started whimpering to the man. "He'll be the best android model you've seen, just...trust me. Trust in him!"
"I'll trust you to rebuild him once he's damaged. And I trust you to recode him once that's done," The man told her coldly. "It's best to start again. Maybe then you'll learn."
"You're telling me you want me to rebuild him after you destroy him?" Y/N widened her eyes. She knew he meant that Connor would get shot. Y/N laughed nervously and shakily, she tried to convince the man not to shoot Connor. "W-What about all my hard work? This RK800 model really took a long time-"
"You're standing in front of the target," the security android said with a neutral tone. It's emotionless voice echoed in Y/N's ears. She already knew it was following commands. And she already knew she wasn't going to change the man's mind.
"Connor, don't move..." Y/N whispered as softly as she could. She knew he would hear her.
"It's going to shoot you," Connor informed her with narrowed eyes. His LED was bright red and his brows were furrowed. "You're in danger."
"No! You're in danger, please don't move," Y/N begged him as quietly as possible and kept her ground. She moved her gaze back to the android. "Please, don't shoot."
"You have approximately five seconds to move away from the target," the android informed her nonchalantly. "Please move out of the way."
"No..." Y/N narrowed her eyes and kept her ground. "Don't...shoot."
The android kept his gaze fixated on Connor for a second, before moving to Y/N. "One," it started counting.
"Two," it continued, keeping its eyes on Y/N. Its gaze didn't waver.
"Get out off the way," Connor hissed, his voice strained.
"No..." Y/N hissed back. She whipped around to look at the android again once it continued counting. "Look, you don't have to follow orders-"
"Three," It didn't stop.
Gulping, Y/N took a step back and bumped into Connor as she did so. Connor, instinctively wrapped a hand around her wrist and kept his eyes narrowed.
"Four," the android got a bit closer, its eyes moving to look at Connor.
"Five-"
"No-!" Y/N widened her eyes but gasped as she was thrown to the side by Connor's arm. She heard a stomp of a foot as she fell to the floor and right after-
BANG!
The echoing bang of a gun managed to wake up Y/N in the form of a jolt. She gasped loudly as she sat up on her bed and tried to catch her breath.
