SYSTEM REBOOTING...
ALL SYSTEMS OPERATIONAL...

Connor opened his eyes in a flash once his software had finally brought itself back to life. Since he opened his eyes so quickly, Connor had to grow accustomed to the light and blinked his eyes several times.

He sat up and looked around. He was home...well at Y/N's house. Connor looked around and noticed that nothing had changed. It was still snowing outside, there was nothing on the coffee table except Y/N's favourite book and the sofa was still comfortable.

The only thing missing was Y/N. And that set panic inside Connor.

Had she been taken while he was shut off? She couldn't have been. Connor suspected that if CyberLife or Kamski wanted Y/N for her plans, then they would've teared this whole place apart. But everything seems in tact till now.

At the mention of CyberLife and Kamski, Connor swallowed. He didn't want to remind himself of what he was told to do by Kamski. If he did remind himself of that, he was almost certain his stress levels would increase and he would most likely shut off again.

Connor's panicked thoughts were interrupted as he heard footsteps that stopped all of a sudden. He turned his head to look at where the sound had come from.

Once his eyes met with Y/N's wide, pretty [e/c] ones, he felt relief wash over him. She looked at him, with surprised yet worried [e/c] eyes. Those eyes...always so expressive. Her hair was slightly damp, Connor suspected she had a shower a while ago. She slowly closed the door behind her.

Connor's lips parted, unsure whether to say something or not.

"Connor..." Y/N breathed his name out, she seemed shocked to even see him here.

"Y/N-" Connor started but was cut off.

"How are you feeling? Did your software work everything out?" Y/N asked with concern and approached him.

Connor was about to ask her if she was alright, but decided not to. She seemed fine anyway...

Clearing his throat, he nodded slowly, "I'm fine, yes."

"Good..." Y/N swallowed and then looked away. "I checked you a little while before you woke up. Your levels seem to be okay, but I just needed to make absolute sure."

Connor wanted to thank her for attempting to help him when he was shut off. But he didn't. He didn't know why, but he couldn't open his mouth to say those two words.

"I hope..." Connor started. His voice was oddly quiet, but he tried not to push it. "...You're alright. I'm sorry that I caused you trouble with me shutting off."

"It's fine. I would shut off too if I was put in your position," Y/N told him with an exhausted laugh. She smiled at him, Connor expected that smile to bring him temptations of smiling back or just happiness, but he didn't feel anything. That smile...he didn't like it.

She looked defeated.

Please...smile like you mean it, please Y/N let me see that smile again... Connor begged her in his head, pleading her to smile happily. To flash him one of those divine smiles she always had. But she didn't.
