Connor opened his eyes and was surprised to see that Y/N hadn't moved from her position.
He raised his head just slightly to look at her and managed to see her sleeping.
I thought the journey to her bed would wake her up by now, Connor wondered and stayed still. He didn't know how to leave this situation. If he left he would wake Y/N, if he didn't, she'd wake up and order him to leave. The way she reacted to him placing a hand on her thigh wasn't good, so he didn't think this would be any better.
Y/N probably needs some space... Connor thought and was about to free his hand from the embrace he had put them both in. But, Connor hurried to put it back once Y/N shuffled slightly.
Almost anything he moved, Y/N was able to sense it and move in discomfort. She was still asleep, he knew she was by the sound of her breathing but Connor figured she was a very light sleeper.
|| CHANCE OF Y/N WAKING UP: 45% ||
Shit, Connor closed his eyes and let out a soft, almost inaudible sigh.
Why did he think this was a good idea? He could've just placed her on the bed and tucked her under the blankets. It would've created the same warmth he's giving her now. There was no need to stay here with her.
That was the first thing my software thought of though...why didn't I look for a more logical approach? Connor shook his head softly. He would place his forehead on something to reevaluate why he had done this, but all he had in front of him was Y/N's back and he really didn't want to wake her.
If he had only stayed in the studio with her or woken her when she fell asleep, he wouldn't have had to carry her here. Actually, why did he carry her here? It would've been easier just to let Y/N fall asleep and wake up in the studio.
Connor rethought it for a second and remembered, It's too cold in there for her. I can't just leave her there.
Connor shook his head softly and looked at Y/N's back. Her chest was going up and down in a pattern like motion. Slow, deep and almost inaudible.
She looks relaxed, Connor blinked as he thought of that. He hadn't seen her sleep, mostly because he didn't sleep with her. But at the sight of her sleeping calmly, not stressing out over the sensors or him, Connor found that intriguing.
I hope the hug and the warmth helped. Connor thought. Now that he thought about it, he felt himself flush up with pride. He didn't want to admit that he was happy to be the reason that Y/N was relaxed and calm right now, but...he couldn't help it. A small smile played at his lips.
SOFTWARE INSTABILITY ↑
Oh no... Connor snapped himself out of those thoughts. He shouldn't be thinking that. He shouldn't be proud. It wasn't a mission...why did he feel like he succeeded with something?
I better leave. Connor closed his eyes, quietly cleared his mind and then opened them again. They carefully analysed the parts of Y/N's body that were restraining him from slipping away. His arm was under her waist, so he'll have to free that second. His other arm was wrapped around and over her waist, so that'll be first. Then the legs.
Connor looked down at his legs to see what was preventing him from slipping away. Y/N had one of her legs on top of his. It wouldn't be too hard to slip the leg out from underneath her.
|| SLIP AWAY WITHOUT WAKING Y/N ||
Connor turned back to Y/N and removed the arm on top of her first. She didn't sense anything.
