Blinking his eyes open, Connor brought himself back from his 'sleep'.
His software started again, the familiar blue lines that appeared in his gaze returned and he was back to power in mere seconds.
He raised his head and managed to see Y/N in front of him. She had a small smile on her face at seeing him rise from his position.
"Good, you woke up," Y/N laughed softly. She was wearing the same clothes that she was wearing when she was clearing the snow.
Connor soon realised it was the same day. Just the evening.
"Why haven't you woken me up earlier?" Connor asked her. "Why did I power off in the first place?"
"Well, I told you to," Y/N explained, her smile still on her face. "You don't remember?"
"Oh," Connor turned his head away slightly as the memory returned to him. She had told him to power off. Much to Connor's reluctance, he did what he was told. Since it was an instruction. As usual, he settled down on the couch and was really quick to power off. He didn't know that he had been shut off for so long. It was exactly 7:34:56 PM. He was certain that he had powered off at around 4:12:03 PM.
Had it really been that long?
"I wanted you to shut off for a while because you technically did all the work for me out there," Y/N explained calmly. Taking off her jacket as she did so. "I thought it'd be nice for you to have a little nap. Since I figured you were tired."
"I'm not tired," Connor corrected her. Because it was the truth. He really wasn't tired. He never got tired. The closest thing he could get to tired would be to have his biocomponent failing him, but that's it. He really wasn't tired. "There was no need to have me power off."
Y/N blinked at him. Her reply to what he said was silence accompanied with a mini shrug. She took off her snow/covered gloves and placed them on the dining table. "I just hope you enjoyed your little nap. Because I have a surprise for you," Y/N flashed him a warm smile.
"Really?" Connor raised both brows. What had she been doing all the time that he was powered off?
"Yep," Y/N's warm smile turned into an excited grin. She skipped towards her studio, disappeared for mere seconds and came back with something in her hands.
Connor immediately recognised them as the sensors.
"Have they been tested?" was Connor's first question at the sight of the new sensors.
Although they were identical to the first ones, after a brief scan, he could tell they were in some way, different.
"Well, tested on someone? No," Y/N answered succinctly as she glanced down at the sensors on her hands. "But I've ran tests and such, so I doubt there's going to be a problem."
"There's a chance there might be," Connor told her. He kept his eyes on the sensors. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he had missed the absence of feeling. While he was skeptical about the sensors, he was somewhat...excited.
That's irregular, Connor thought. He shouldn't be thinking like that. He shouldn't be getting excited.
"Okay, so, what these newbies will do is," Y/N started explaining. Connor managed to see her face light up with happiness. This gleeful expression would pop up on Y/N's face anytime she would start explaining something. He felt quite pleased to see her joyous expression and hoped to see more of it.
