I was walking into school with my head down. I hadn't talked to anyone lately. I would see Hazel and I would walk in another direction. My avoidance of interacting with human life was turning into almost a problem.

I feel an impact from my shoulder and I fall to the ground. When I look up, James stood over the top of me. People started to crowd around as I laid there in pain.

"Get a phone call last night, Dolan?"

I stare at him and he laughs.

"Please tell me you're okay." James teases. "Pathetic."

"How did you-"

"I was the last person she saw before she ran away." He laughs. "Left her phone at my house."

I stare at him intently and she showed me her phone. "You're a loser."

I stand up and I shove him. I punch him in the face and I hold him by the collar. "It's not my fault your girlfriend couldn't love you."

James punches me in the face and I feel Sage hold my arms. He punched me repeatedly in the stomach. James punches me once more and I feel myself start to black out. Until I see a girl run toward James with a teacher. Sage lets go of me and the halls begin to get cleared.

I laid on the ground hoping I was dead. Maybe I was. I couldn't feel anything. I could feel my busted lip, my bloody nose, or the blistering pain in my stomach. I laid there hoping I was dead.

"Are you okay?" She whispers.

"Just fine." I reply in pain. "Completely okay."

She laughs softly. "Lets get you fixed up." Hazel says.
