Ethan's P.O.V

It was Monday. The weekend had gone by so fast. It was boring. My life had been so boring. I missed walking home with Carson and annoying her. I missed going places that made me feel alive. Places that made me feel like I wasn't existing, I was living. Places where I forgot about the time and focused on the girl who had made me feel so happy.

"Are you okay?" I hear a quiet voice behind me.

I turn around from my locker and I see Hazel. She stood there with books in her hands.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I reply. "Sorry for leaving like that on Friday."

Hazel laughs. "It's fine. I came off a little too strong."

"Maybe we can do it again? After school?"

She nods with a small smile. "Yeah, id like that."

I get the rest of my books out of my locker.

"I'll meet you out at the front." I give her a hug and small kiss on the cheek.

"Ill see you later." She says before leaving down the hall.

As I begin to walk down the hall I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Missed me already?" I laugh turning around.

I thought I would see Hazel. But, instead i'm faced with Carson.

"That's her?" She asks looking back. "She's really pretty."

"She is." I nod.

Carson looks around the empty halls as she holds her books close to her chest.

"I found another place." Carson states. "I had a lot of time to myself in the weekend, so I went exploring."

"Without me?" I sarcastically question. "That hurts, Woodridge."

Carson chuckles and slaps me playfully.

"After school? Ill meet you at the front?"

The smile fades from my face. "Uh, I can't do tonight."

"Oh, that's okay." Carson says as she tries to force a smile.

"But, definitely soon." I assure. "I promise sometime this week."

Carson shakes her head. "No, I'll just adventure more." She exclaims. "By myself. You just worry about Hazel."

"Carson-"

"Ethan." She says grabbing my hand. "It's fine."

Carson finished it with one last smile and left walking down the hall. I kick the locker and I storm down the hallway.
