Chapter 21 - Blank

I stared into his eyes. He stared straight back. He looked down at my time and then at his own.

I look down at my arm. Zero's. Blank. Dark. Zeros. I had timed out. And I did feel it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I felt Sage stare on me. I didn't know what to do.

"Do I know you?" I whisper.

"I'm new here." He says. "I'm sorry, are you okay?"

I nod slowly and I look at the blank zero's on his arm. "I think-"

"Yeah." He whispers. "We've just times out."

Ethan's P.O.V

I run as fast as I could. I was pushing pass everyone in my way. My time was ticking down. I saw Carson from a far. She was talking to Sage. I slowed down and I stopped in my tracks. Carson turns around and bumps into someone.

I start to walk back as tears pinched my eyes. Until I feel someone walk into me from behind. I quickly turn around.

"Watch where you're fucking going!" I yell.

It was a girl. She looked up from her phone and locked her eyes with mine. My heart had stopped beating. The world had stopped spinning.

"I'm sorry." She says with a stunned look. "I should have watched where I was going."

I shake my head as my body felt light. "I shouldn't have been walking like that down the hall."

The girl looks my arm. And I look at hers. Blank. Zero's.
