CHAPTER 65

"Ano?!! Siraulo yun. Ah! May nalalaman pang di ijajudge tapos ganun ang reaction nya nung nagsabi ka na ng totoo! Dapat pala di ko kayo iniwan kagabi para nakatikim sa akin ng tadyak at suntok ang lalaking yun,eh!" Valerie had gone ballistic the moment she narrated what happened the previous night after Val left her and RJ to talk. They were having coffee at the veranda of their unit.

"Val! Kalma lang...Hindi ko naman masisi si RJ sa reaction nya kasi sino ba namang matinong tao ang maniniwala sa kwento ko. Partida kalmado pa nga yung reaction nya kumpara sa ineexpect ko." Dei uttered sadly.

"May point ka naman dyan, bes. Medyo extreme ang kwento mo although dahil naniniwala ako sa mga paranormal stuff na 'yan medyo keri ko naman sakyan ang trip mo dun. Ang totoo nyan, medyo nagtampo nga ako dun sa hindi mo ipinagkatiwala sa akin ang buong kwento ng tungkol sa nangyari sa'yo sa bundok. Akala ko ba beshies tayo?" Val asked with a pout.

Dei walked towards Val and embraced her. Val pretended to try to break free from the embrace but Dei embraced her tighter.

"Sorry na, bes. Di naman sa hindi ako nagtitiwala sa iyo pero alam mo yun? Kahit kasi ako di ko na alam kung nababaliw na ba ako nung time na yun. Imagine nagkagusto ako sa lalaki na ni hindi ako sure kung totoong tao talaga or figment lang ng imagination ko! Tapos ngayon after a few months bigla syang susulpot ulit sa life ko, in the flesh, pero di nya ako kilala. Paano ko ikukwento s'yo yun in detail or sa ibang tao na hindi ako pag-iisipan na nahihibang or nawawala na sa sarili? Alam mo yun, bes?!" She narrated frustratedly. Val looked at her straight in the eye and squeezed her arms comfortingly.

"Dei, magbeshies tayo so gets ko kung anuman ang pinagdadaanan mo. Sabi nga ng matatanda maraming nangyayari sa paligid natin na di maipaliwanag ng modern science. Baka isa ito dun. Ang tanong na lang dito is: let it go na lang ba kay Papa RJ or fight, fight, fight pa? I'm sure nahurt ka sa nangyari." Val asked her. Dei heaved a deep sigh. She walked back to the other side of the garden set and plopped down on her chair again.

"To be honest, Val. I don't know. Yes, nahurt ako sa mga sinabi nya pero may part ko pa rin na nagsasabing valid ang reaction nya. Siguro time lang ang makakapagsabi kung maaayos pa ito. Bayaan nating kusang gumawa ng sarili nyang paraan si destiny. Tutal ganoon ko din naman sya nakilala, kung talagang destined syang maging parte ng buhay ko sa ano mang capacity then so be it. Di ako mag-eexpect para di ganoon kasakit." She answered glumly. She leaned forward on the table between them and set her elbow on top of it and propped her chin on her palm.

"Alam ko na, bes! Para gumanda ang mood mo at makalimutan mo muna si Judge, mag out of town tayo this weekend!" Val announced excitedly.

"Sino naman si Judge?!" She asked, confused.

"Sino pa kung hindi si Mr. Psychologist na mahilig mangjudge ng kapwa! Ano??! Game na. Mag-out of town na tayo! Masaya yun!" Val urged her. She couldn't help but shake her head and smile at how supportive her best friend is.

"Tutal wala tayong work this weekend, bakit di muna tayo magbeach?! Di ba kapag stressed or malungkot ka pumupunta ka sa beach to unwind kahit mag-isa?" Val said obviously trying really hard to convince her. She leaned back on her seat mentally checking if she has any pending work or commitment that weekend that she needs to attend to.

"Wala kang ibang appointment starting today, I know kasi ako ang nag-aayos ng schedules mo so wala kang alibi. And think about it, when was the last time we went to the beach? Seven months ago na yata eh ikaw nga itong kating kating pumunta dun every chance you got kasi sabi mo happy place mo ang beach. Sige na, bes! Ako ang magdadrive papunta at pauwi at ikaw chill lang the whole trip!" Val cajoled her. She smiled at her friend's blatant efforts to cheer her up.

"Okay, fine! You win! Magbeach na tayo. Alis na tayo ngayon then balik dito sa Manila by Sunday morning. Alam na alam mo talaga ang weakness ko, noh?! Sige na mag-empake ka na at uubusin ko lang itong coffee ko then mag-eempake na rin ako." She told her friend who immediately gave out a happy shriek and hugged her.

"Yehey! We're going to the beach! Masaya to! Maisusuot ko na finally yung nabili kong red bikini last week! Thank you, bes!" Val enthused as she squeezed Dei in a hug before letting her go and sprinting back inside their unit towards her room.

"Tignan mo ito! Sabi na nga ba may iba kang motibo sa pag-aaya sa beach, eh! Naisahan mo ako dun,ah!" She shouted at her friend who just laughed out loud and blew her a kiss before disappearing inside her bedroom.

Dei took her cup and took a sip of the coffee as she went back to thinking of what her best friend asked her earlier.

"Ano, self? Let It Go na ba or Fight Song pa rin ang theme song ng love life mo? Willing ka bang masaktan uli para kay RJ?" She asked herself as she stare at the coffee cup in her hands.

Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone suddenly rang from beside her. She immediately checked the name of the caller. Her heart rate tripled upon seeing the name that registered.

It was RJ.

She tried to analyze how she feels at the moment. Is she ready to talk to him or does she need more time to think things through?

The phone just kept on ringing.

She pressed on the reject button.
