Ready to leave by early morning, we boarded the train again. Back into the cramped train carriage. For a 7 hour trip this time. It was fine for Scarlet who could reach it in an instant and was wait for us there, but the rest of us... not so well off.
Yeah. 7 hours. In a stupidly cramped train.
Actually scratch that. I had a better idea.
"Hey, buddy," I approached the ticketing guy.
"Yes sir?"
"I need 3 tickets to Anima, personal carriage,"
"Sir, while I don't agree with this, but I can't permit Puppets on the normal carriages. Trying to keep my job."
I glanced around.
"How much till they're invisible?"
He looked around too, whispering.
"Got anything good?"
Iona gave me a bag of coins she brought along from her town. We had to do a little looting.
There were a few gold coins in there along with silver. This should be enough.
"4 gold coins, they're yours to keep if you keep quiet."
"..." he checked around again. There wasn't a lot of people in the early train, so there wasn't much risk of being caught. "Deal. Just make sure they don't cause any trouble, my boss will have my head," he quickly handed me the tickets, ushering us off.
Bribery, nothing too bad. At least not in a world like this. I told the two to keep a low profile and to draw unnecessary attention.
We quickly boarded and settle into a small room, closing.
"Alright, we're good to go. Alice, Iona, you two behave. We get caught, and we're walking to Anima."
"Y-Yes..."
The train started moving soon enough. It was loud... the rumbling noises and the engine and all... But for now, we just had to get ourselves over to Anima, setup Kuro's scroll and report to Amayasha-sama.
Leaving Lunaria, Iona had her eyes fixated on the station shrinking away into the horizon. It was a new experience for her, being free to go where she wanted, to some extent. Alice was a little excited too. She hadn't been to Anima before.
The trip was going to take a while, but at least it was comfier this time around.
"Master, what will we do when we reach Anima?"
"There's an area where a revolution is rising. I intend to go there."
"Against what?"
"The king in Machina, Reverie's capital. He's called Nexus, a tyrant that treats anyone in the normal population as dirt, and he's corrupt as hell. The revolution plans to overthrow the government. But the thing is, they still need to plan out how they'd start it."
"What do you have to do with it?"
"Well, long story short, I intend to smoothen things a little. It's important."
"Why?" Iona tilted her head.
"Master wishes to make a bond between Reverie and Tendo. Or something like that, is Alice right?"
"Somewhat. Overthrowing a government will allow for lots of change. If I can just set things in the proper direction, I could orchestrate how this would go from the shadows. So, for this to work, I need to get info from that tyrant."
"Sounds... complicated for one person."
"I'm planning on getting more help."
So I said, but the reality was that there were plenty of issues I had to address.
