"I'm impressed, kid. I really am," Seth laughed. "Claire An'en, AND Mary Seraph, in person, and not trying to kill us all."

"Thanks...?"

"I mean it kid! I didn't think you could pull it off, but you did! We now have the strongest members of the enemy in our side. The revolution is going to rise soon. I can feel it."

"It's not all me, Seth. It's still Mary's plan that lead to this. She was the one who sent me the letter, and she was the one who came up with the plans to get Claire on our side as well."

"That doesn't change the fact that you did us all a favour," Larry grinned, smoking. "You made this battle 100 times easier, you know? I don't even think the house is enough of a thanks."

"It's fine, really. I don't need to receive so much. The other members are only going to get more suspicious of me. I may have done a lot to help, but it doesn't change the fact that some people still doubt me."

"Fair point," Seth nodded, sipping away at his coffee. "Tell you what, next time you need something, just ask. I'll do whatever I can to help. Within reason."

"And have this, on me," Larry handed me a pouch. "There's some coin in there, good enough to last you for a some time."

"Oh wow... thanks a lot."

"Don't thank us. It the least I can do after the effort you and your kids out it. Treat it as an apology for all the times I've been harsh on ya."

"It's rare to see this thick headed brother of mine apologising, kid. You're one of the only ones."

"Pipe it."

"Ahahaha!!" Seth laughed. "How about you go get some rest? It's getting late, I don't think your friends want you to be away for so long. I'll pay for your drink."

"Alright, I'll excuse myself then," I stood up, leaving for home.

It was midnight when I arrived at the house Seth gave me. Looking at the place made me feel happy. I hadn't been in a proper house in a while, my room was getting cramped with the new additions. This was a good change of space.

"Master, you're back," Mary greeted me.

"You're still up huh...? Where's the rest?"

"Sleeping. I wanted to wait for you."

"Something you wanna talk about?"

"Yes. The archives, in particular. I was thinking you'd be interested in visiting."

"It's pretty late... but I probably don't have time to enter during the day..."

"Seems as much," she handed me some water. "How about you stop time? You could read more that way."

I can?

Technically, but I won't let you.

Eh?

Stopping time for a long period requires a huge consumption of mana. I'd recommend coming inside my realm instead.

There's a difference?

In this case, I'm the one stopping time, not you. So as long as you're inside my realm, time in the real world doesn't flow. And as much as I don't want to let anyone else in, I'll make an exception for her.

Thanks.

You owe me.

"Master, are you listening?"
