Morning came around, and I awoke to Alice sleeping soundly beside me. I gently strokes her head. Mary had already woken up, seeing as she wasn't beside me.

She was right outside the bedroom, it seemed. Reading, probably. Sylphie was awake too, sitting outside with her.

"Alice, time to wake up."

"Mm...? Good morning Master..." she yawned.

"Slept well?"

"Yes~"

"Go wash up, I'll do it after you're done."

"Okay, let's go have breakfast after this!"

"We need to get this sold first, then we eat. I only have a handful of coins left."

As Alice went off to get herself cleaned up, I walked outside the bedroom.

"You two sure slept well." Sylphie smiled, drinking from a cup.

"Master was tired, and Alice.... just likes to sleep a lot."

"A cherry one isn't she? Hard to find children like her in these times. Everyone is affected by the war..." she sighed. "Raito, we must end this cycle."

"Yeah. And we're almost there. We just need to set your brother straight, one way or another."

"If things go wrong however, what then?" Mary asked.

"I'll kill him. I cannot allow a warmonger to have his way in my country." she looked out of the window. "Even now.... he could be sending assassins for me, while planning more ways to fight Tendo and Reverie."

"Well we'll just have to stop him before that. We've got work to do."

After getting the gemstone sold (I had to hide my face and only bring Alice along), I regrouped with the other two to have breakfast somewhere decent.

Our bags were all packed and we were ready to go. So after eating, we just had to make our way to central Lumos. There wasn't anymore forest areas to go through, so the rest of the way was more of smooth sailing. To an extent.

We still had to walk most of the way, occasionally paying for a cart ride. But we had to keep contact with other people at a minimum. It was going to be a problem if someone found her.

The next issue was how were we going to get into the castle. For all we know, Malic could've gotten them all in his hand by now. But Sylphie assured me there was nothing to worry about once we reached the castle. And that the only thing I should focus on is keeping everyone safe.

Good point.

Well, worst comes to worst, I probably had to kill him, or let Sylphie do it. At least having Kuro on my side, magic wasn't much to worry about.

We continued our way towards her castle, which was about a day or two away. It wasn't going to take too long, considering I managed to hire a cart to take us there. The man himself wasn't too concerned about who we were at least.

He had this idea that we were travellers looking to see the situation at the castle, with timeouts of Sylphie being dead spreading like wildfire, the country was at a bit of unrest. Sylphie was hiding using her masking, trying her best not to get noticed. While it was helpful to let the people know she was alive, letting assassins know of her would be an issue.

The cart ride was bumpy, and long. On the bright side, we didn't need to walk all the easy to the castle, which was great for us. I sat in the cart, looking outside. It was snowing again, the sky was dull...

After almost a full day of travel, we were close enough to the castle that we could make our way there by walking. The only question was if we were going to do it guns blazing or stealthily.
