Chapter 7: Alice

It didn't take long before my sleep was cut short by a strange sensation. I felt something crawling around me and was close to a bind.

I opened my eyes to.... ribbons. The girl was still out cold, but the ribbons had grown substantially. 6 of them, all at least 3 metres long. The ribbons were twined around me like vines, which almost made me panic. I slowly unraveled the ribbons wrapped around me, which slowly dropped to the ground lifelessly. Talk about weird.

Turning towards Scarlet, she too was still sleeping. Like a log. Might as well let her keep sleeping I guess, nothing much I need her to do yet. I already altered history once, just needed to see what's next.

As I left the room, I heard some shuffling. Peering inside showed me the girl had woken up, though her movements were sluggish. She looked around the room for a while with those blank eyes of hers, confused. She noticed me after a bit, staring at me for quite some time.

"Um... yes?"

"..." Silence. Her mouth was moving, but no words came out. Lack of mana resulting in speech loss huh...

"Are you hungry?"

"..."

"Tired?"

"..."

"You want a bath?"

"..."

"Need something to drink?"

"..."

Nothing. She didn't even respond with nodding or shaking her head. Just lifelessly standing there, almost like she was just a doll. What did she go through...?

Just to see if I could get something from her, I tried speaking in a bossier manner.

"Come here."

Nodding, she came towards me.

Poor kid must've been conditioned to take orders only.

I'm gonna make her master regret this...

Don't forget that you're still in your 12 year old body. You're not gonna take a lot of hits before going down.

You really didn't bring my physical capabilities over, did you?

You'd think getting sleepy way before midnight told you enough.

Her two ribbons coming from her wrists were slowly shortening, no- wrapping around her wrists. The four from her back floated around freely, trailing behind her.

She stood in front of me, bowing once before looking at me intriguingly.

"Tell me your name."

No response. Guessed as such at least...

But before I could do much, father came into the room, the door opened somewhat softly, but it still jolted Scarlet awake, causing her to fall off the bed.

"Good morning, father."

"Umm.. is she okay? Well, I was just about to wake you up. Get ready soon, we are heading off in a while. Those two should stay here, I'll get someone to look after them."

"Can they come along? We'll just stay outside the room while you discuss, I don't think these two want to be left alone.

"I guess that is doable. I'll have Hanzo wait with you three then. Make sure you stay out of trouble. We leave in half an hour, get ready."
