Alice worriedly grabbed my hand, hiding behind me. Wasn't surprising. She had never seen an actual display of magic, and this was multiple high leveled magic users just firing everything they had. One stray magic attack and I was a goner.

First order of business was to get Malic somewhere safe. I couldn't let him get hurt. And I probably had to apologise to him when he woke up.

A blast in the air caught my attention, Sylphie had flown into the air and sent an entire barrage of attacks just raining down on the three, the shields they made just instantly shattered.

The governor and his men tried what they could to retaliate, but under heavy fire from both Mary and Sylphie, they couldn't actually do much. All I did was watch as attack after attack, the three were forced into a worse and worse position.

We took cover behind a fallen building, just trying to make sure we weren't caught in the crossfire. Alice was using her ribbons to bandage some wounds Malic had, which were also healing him, albeit very slowly.

I caught a glimpse of Sylphie just surrounding them in a hellish black flame. And through their lips, I could make out what they were saying.

"I'll give you one chance of surrender."

"To hell with you! You never do anything as a queen! All you do is sit in your office and give out orders! You don't know anything about the country, do you!"

"I.."

"Sylphie, don't listen to them. They just want to distract you."

"They're... right, however. I don't know anything about the country. That's why I managed to let all this happen without my knowledge. My brother being framed, my own people going against me...."

"So what!" I yelled. "You can fix this! Reform is all you need! You may not have done much this round but you can make it better! I didn't escort you all the way here just for you to give up!"

She looked stunned. "Yes... I can fix this. Reform is needed. And those corrupt with power must be removed at its roots!" she glared at them.

"The three of you are all going to surrender, your authority as governor will be removed, and all those that work for you are to be jailed with you," I slowly walked towards him.

I had to bait an attack for him. I could just knock him out, there wasn't going to be much a problem after that.

"You forget your place. You can't even use magic, and you think you can- wha?!"

I was right behind him, knife to his throat.

"Just to make this clear. I don't need magic to gut you like a fish. Stand down and you'll be spared."

"Don't get full of yourself."

A ball of magic appeared on his hand as he tried to attack.

"Too slow," I swung the back of my foot right into the back of his head, slamming his face right into the ground. "Now then, you two can try to attack, but the two of them will probably kill you make a move. So I'd suggest you surrender."

Reluctantly, they raised their hands in surrender. Some officials working for Sylphie soon came and drew some glyphs on them, which was apparently meant to seal their magic somehow. Not something I could understand.

Mary ran towards me, Sylphie, towards Malic. Fortunately, he wasn't in a bad condition, just kinda beat up. Literally.

I sat down beside them, tired. Mary using that many attacks ate away at my mana like mad. But the worst was over, and the situation here at Sylphie was done. Surprisingly fast, actually. I had expected I'd die a lot more than that. Just once was actually quite an achievement.
