"Alice, sit still! I can't wash you properly with you zipping about!"

"But the water is hot!"

"Listen to Master, Alice. A hot bath is better than a cold one in this weather. Do you agree, Citra?"

"Well, yes. I don't remember the last time I had warm water in a bath, however," Citra said with a smile.

I continued washing her hair, trying my best not to look at her eyes. There was a very obvious scar across her eyes. No wonder she always wore a bandage. Her hands and legs had scars on them too...

"Raito?"

"Yeah?"

"I've been meaning to ask, but Fiore has been standing outside for a while by now, I wonder why?" she pointed behind her.

How could she tell?

Probably her ability. She's probably one with good sensory skills, ironically.

"Ah, is he trying to peep on us? Alice will deal with him!"

"I doubt that's the case. He's probably just worried about Citra."

"He never liked leaving my side..."

I simply chuckled as I finished off washing Citra down and continued on Alice and Iona. The bath was a little cramped for four people, but it was manageable.

Once I was done with them, I bathed myself and got myself dressed. I probably had to get a new set sooner or later, it was getting colder... Maybe some better clothes for Citra too. Hopefully I had enough money to spend.

"You were peeping on Alice, weren't you?!"

"I was not!"

"Alice could feel your emotions... You perverted boy! Alice is only for Master!"

"Like I said, I wasn't looking at anyone!"

"They get along well," Iona giggled. "Don't you think?" she looked at Citra.

"I guess so."

"Come on guys, it's time for dinner. Let's grab a bite."

Dinner was rather decent, for its price. It was always nice to find something cheap that was also good. However, one thing was somewhat odd. Citra only ate small amount of food, which on its own was fine, but something about it just felt odd.

It was either my imagination or Kuro's opinions getting the better of me. But it just felt strange, like my gut instinct was trying to tell me something.

It was soon night, and I was planning on visiting Kuro again when Fiore asked me to follow him.

We stepped outside, where he led me to the lobby.

"So, why are you treating us like this?"

"Like what?"

"The way you treat Citra and I. I don't get it, we never met, and you don't owe us anything. Why are you so nice?"

"I wouldn't call it 'nice', honestly. I'm just doing the right thing, cheesy as it sounds."

"I don't get that. All I see here are people being assholes. No one bats an eye for us Puppets."

"It's the problem with society. Is that all you wanted to ask? Quite the setup for a simple question."

"That's not all! I-"

"Calm down buddy. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Let me guess, you wanna know what I'm trying to achieve with helping you."

"That's... one of the questions."
