The plan was simple. Wait for Mary to get everything set up. When she was ready, I would cause some chaos, allowing the rest to evacuate the orphans. Thing is, Mary seemed to want to take out all the people working for the church.

In other words, bring the church down on them. We were going to be killing almost dozens of them..... Was this really the way to do it?

Raibo. I suggest you consider following through with her plans. As much as you don't want to kill, there are some that simply deserve to die.

Who am I to decide that?

You don't. But their god can. They're damned to begin with. If you don't kill them, these people will just cause more and more problems. Not everyone will become your ally.

But.

No buts, Raibo.

Fine....

Look at it this way. You're not the one killing them. She is. See it as her judging their sins. She is the apostle of their god anyways.

I sighed. Kuro was right, as much as I hated to admit. Killing wasn't my thing, but if it came to it....

"Master, look," Alice tugged my sleeve.

A newspaper.... regarding yesterday's events.

"Claire leaves royal guard... Top swordsman lost. Whereabouts unknown...," Iona read.

Leaves? Didn't seem as dramatic as I thought it would be...

Something tells me the child's words got through his head. That said, I feel bad for that boy who's into her.

Oh right. Him.

"So that's what it reads."

"You still don't understand written Reverien?" Iona asked.

"Ehehe, not really."

"Great isn't it?" the shopkeeper sighed. "The lass was an important member of the royal guard. Without her they'll fall like flies."

"Are you sure you should be talking like that?" I asked curiously. "People could hear you."

"Bah. To hell with the tyrant. Last time I gave a damn, they took my son to war, and returned him in a box. My wife couldn't bear the loss and hung herself. Now I ran out of damns to give."

"Oh. I'm uh... sorry."

"Don't be. That said, you certainly don't look like someone from this place. You don't even look like a Reverien."

"I... uh..."

"Ah don't sweat it. I couldn't care less if you were some spy or anything. Getting rid of that ass of ruler sounds great. At least the future might have it a little better, if this war doesn't kick back up."

"Back?"

"The war may be still on, but it's currently a standstill, a truce. As long as nothing bad happens, the fighting should stay on hold."

I nodded. I quickly bought a copy of the paper and left. What he said, the war being on pause... Suddenly explained a few things. This explained the slow advance of the peace talks between Tendo and Slyphie.

This also explained why there was so much time for the revolution to pick up... How did I not notice this?

"Master? What's wrong?"
