"About time you woke up." I sighed.

"Where am I?!"

"Doesn't really matter does it? What matters now is how you answer from here."

"You're not getting anything from-"

I cut him short by throwing a knife right by his face.

"Let's cut the crap, buddy. Or my next throw might just get a tad closer."

"My brother sent you to kill me, didn't he?" Sylphie questioned. Her piercing stare was scary even without her looking at me...

The assassin kept silent. Guess he wasn't really keen on talking. Points for loyalty I guess.

"Answer my question."

He looked away.

"Look here buddy, Sylphie vaporised your friend without breaking a sweat. I doubt you want to go through the same thing."

"..."

He was nervous. Great news for me.

"I do not want to ask you again. Did my brother send you?"

"..." he closed his eyes.

"I commend you for your loyalty. But it is foolish nonetheless," she sighed, a ball of light forming in her hand. "Goodbye."

"Wait!! I'll talk!!"

"That's better," I grinned. "Just tell us everything we need to know."

We really didn't need to interrogate him. We all knew Malic sent him to kill Sylphie, this interrogation was meant as a warning to Malic, according to Sylphie.

Scare the crap outta him, and have him run back to Malic. Sylphie wasn't afraid of anyone Malic could throw at her. Not surprising when you're the strongest magic user in the entire continent.

And, as planned, we had him head back to Malic, scared. Very, scared.

Sylphie had a message for Malic. Which the assassin was going to tell just by returning to Malic. Her message was simple.

'We are coming.'

We spent the night in a separate inn after retrieving our stuff. We took turns keeping watch for any more assassins, we also had Kuro checking the area herself for extra measure.

We rested till the break of dawn, and we soon found ourselves once again heading for the castle.

Through the waterways. It being underground, it was very unlikely to find anyone here. Even if there were, Alice would be able to pick up their presence easily.

It was also considerably easier to reach the castle from here, especially when the ones leading to the castle were larger than the others.

The place also didn't stink, since this was a water supply, not a sewer. Only problem was the place was freezing. Some parts of the walkways had frozen over too, so it wasn't a surprise if I fell in. Fortunately I had two people who could use magic to dry me off. Still wouldn't wanna fall in.

Unfortunately, I did fall in. I froze my arse off while Kuro laughed hers off. And Mary had to spend ages drying me off and warming me up. It was freezing.

Now you understand what the guy felt to look up my skirt.

You're being that up now?!

Well it did remind me of it. Both were equally as funny too.

Shut up.

Through the waterways, we only spent half a day to reach the castle. We came out of the waterways right where Sylphie wanted to be (though not for me), right in the middle of the courtyard.
