The battle wasn't one handed, but it was heavily in our advantage. Our main worry was that the HEART units would stomp out any fight we had, but the combination of Alice, Mary, Claire, Scarlet and Fiore were overpowering them, quite scarily at that.
And if that wasn't enough, there was sudden melody coming from behind me. The speakers were set up and Ruira was singing. Her voice amplified by the speakers, all those from the revolution who heard the song were all suddenly pumped up for battle.
Ruira's song was making everyone stronger and faster, and we were pushing the soldiers back almost twice as fast. Their defenses were failing too. Our guys had climbed out from the sewers behind them, throwing explosives at them and benching them before they even got to fight.
Our numbers were dropping too, but compared to the rate the soldiers were dropping, we had the upper hand. Their formations fell apart fast when those of us on the roofs dropped bombs on them.
Explosives, the go to way to get rid of an army. Made sense.
The city was smoking, and buildings were on fire... How well was this place going to last through this battle... I didn't even know where the civilians went...
But I didn't have time to waste here. Time was running out, and I had to reach the main gates in less than 30 minutes. And through this mess? Not easy.
I couldn't even tell where the others were. I couldn't see Fiore or Scarlet anywhere. Though I could vaguely see Claire tearing through the frontlines like nothing.
"Master!"
"Alice? What are you doing up here?"
"Alice got worried... Alice could find Master anywhere, so Alice came up!"
"Well, I'm still in one piece. Where are the rest?"
"They're in front. Scarlet and Fiore are continuing with flanking from the side."
"You're covered in blood..."
"Someone blew up in front of Alice."
"You aren't scared?"
"Just a little shaky."
"Um.. oh. Come on, let's get to the main gates. See if you can slow down the soldiers coming in."
"Yes Master!" she threw herself into air (along with a piece of the roof I was on), and flung it down onto the road in front of the soldiers.
A huge dust cloud engulfed them, and our guys certainly didn't waste time throwing a few bombs in there... They even fired blindly into the smoke. It worked pretty well at least, I couldn't sense anyone in there...
Remind me never to make any of my Puppets angry... They'd kill me before I'd realise....
Before long, I reached the end of the roofs, and it was time for the next step of this fight. Break into the palace, and stomp out the root of this chaos.
I just had to get down from 5 stories without dying first. I could use the stairs like normal people....
Or I could have Alice help me.
"Alice?"
"Yes Master?"
"Think you can get us down there?"
"Can't Master jump?"
"I'd die."
"Oh yeah. Ehehe. Don't worry, hug Alice by the waist. Tighter! Alice doesn't want Master to fall off. Ready?"
"Yeah su- whoa!!!!"
Alice immediately jumped off the roof, swinging us both on the ground beneath in record time. It was terrifying.
