Bonus Chapter : Prom

▪ Kasumi ▪

I was standing at the buffet table with Rose, taking a quick glance at my time lacrima once in a while.

"Kas-chan, you seem stressed. Are you waiting for someone?" Rose questioned, sipping her glass of punch.

I nodded mutely, looking at the lacrima again.

Of course, he's fashionably late.

Sighing, I pick up another glass from the waiter, tasting the sweet red cordial. Walking over to our table, I sit down and adjust my dress self-conciously.

"Oh? The losers are going stag? And here I was thinking that you would have bribed someone into coming with you to prom!" The shrill voice I'd recognise anywhere inquired.

Without facing her, I waved her off. "I don't have time for your games, Gabrielle."

Hearing a sharp intake of breath from my nemesis, I smirk.

"Does that mean you have a date? Maybe you should stop lying. As if anyone in this school would want to go with you! " Gabrielle laughed. An octave higher and the window panes of the ballroom would shatter.

"Incidentally, yes. AND he's not someone from this school." I stand up, whirling around to face Gabrielle. I stare down at her, many more inches taller than her with my heels, though I was already taller than her without. My eyes turn icy, and I lock her in a death glare. She is barely able to hide her stutter.

"W-whatever! We'll see who's laughing later!" She walks away in a huff, making me snicker. I was tired of waiting, and I was about to get another drink when a flurry of squeals were heard, including Gabrielle's.

Right on cue...

I smell the distinct scent of my mate, weaving his way through the crowd. A smile creeps onto my face, and our eyes connect. I see him brighten instantly.

He walks over to me, and Rose's eyes widen.

"He's your date?!" She whispered furiously, and I wink at her.

Finally, he reaches me, placing an arm around my waist.

"You're late."

"The train ride was...I had to recover and..." He stuttered, waving his arms around frantically.

I laugh, and he shows me his signature grin. "Okay, Sting, I forgive you."

"Mmm...I promise I'll never be late again." He whispered, leaning in such that his breath tickled my ear.

Just then, a slow song came on, and Sting held out his hand to me, reminding me of the first time we went out together. A peach tint was dusted over my cheeks as I put my hand on his, letting him lead the way to the dance floor. Angry mutterings and the furious stomping of Gabrielle's feet on the marbled flooring were heard, but I didn't care.

Placing my hand on Sting's shoulder, he put his on my hip, intertwined his fingers with mine as he held our hands at shoulder level and closed the gap between us.

Slowly swaying to the music, I was amazed.

"You learned how to dance...for this?" My voice was nearly a whisper.

"Anything...anything for my mate." He mumbled back.

Sting's POV

We move our bodies in sync to the slow music, and I see how her dress fits her perfectly.

As the music gradually enters the chorus, speeding up, I increase my pace as well. Watching Kasumi's light-footed and delicate steps, I smile fondly. She blushes slightly at my expression, but returns the smile.

The song's quick beats made my heart pulse faster. Gently lifting her up a few centimetres from the floor, I swung around, spinning her with me. A gasp escaped her throat, and was soon replaced with giggling. As I set her back down, the music started to end and I embrace her.

Finally, the longing overcame me. I moved forward, and connected her coral hued lips with mine. Her eyes shot open, but she closed them again, melting into my touch.

The screams, the comments flying around the room, didn't matter to us anymore.

Nothing else matters if she's in my arms.

"COOOLLLLLL!!!!! Now I have the article for the next issue of Sorcerer's Weekly!!!!!!" I whisper-screamed from my hiding place behind the potted plant.

I can already see the title!
